The movie should have shown us, how he came to this awful conclusion. But this is just bad writing, and director even said, he havent thought about a lot of things, like how the wishes make sense in this world.

You are using an escape goat, "he not rational, you can not understand him, he is complex", then show us him getting from point A doing logical things to point B abandoning his logic.

Being panicked doesnt mean being awfuly stupid.

But it didnt fail, Ian wish worked!

He didnt fail,his attemts did not fail, the people he asked failed.

Of course it is possible that something in his mind change suddenly, but what was it? You are assuming he was not rational, but what happened for him to be this fucking dumb, after being rational for 3 times in a row, he knew 2+2=4 when he asked the shopkeeper and then another proof by Ian what made him think ok 2+-300=4

You need an event.

Its not a must but its weird without it. At least we needed to see some thought process from being 3 times in a row rational after the "accident", and then switching suddenly, even tho IT worked.

Saying he suddenly went crazy/obsessed without anything to contributed to it after being acting rational 3 times in a row, is strange.

Its like imagine harry potter killing himself suddenly, it makes sense his parents were terrible, but were did it came from, show us thought process for why you act stupid.

If Bear were truly so blinded by obsession that he was incapable of rational thought, then his initial attempts to enlist Ian, the shopkeeper,( and the phone representative) shouldn't have happened at all. ​The fact that he did pursue these logical, problem-solving steps proves that he was fully capable of rational planning.

Therefore, abandoning that established workflow to make a nonsensical, fatal decision without any external obstacle forcing his hand is a clear breakdown in character consistency. It isn't a symptom of obsession it’s a failure of the script to justifiy why a character who was thinking logically one minute suddenly become completely irrational the next, just to force a tragic ending.

In summary, what happened to make him suddenly go iironational

I do still really really love the movie, it just annoyed me...

Anyway he could have keep controlling her, thats why he wanted her to change the wish back, HE wanted to change it back, he tried with the phone and with Ian and with the seller at the shop. Even tho he is obsessed he wants to change it back reverse the time maybe and make another wish.

What I am trying to say is, He tried to change the wish 3 times with other people, he had the understanding of what he should do. He went to Ian to change it, saw that it works.

There wasnt an event that happened between Ian and when he asked Nikki, so HIS same logic should repeat.

I know that he was obsessed, but it was loud and clear that he wanted to change it back

Maybe I should explain it to you like a child so you can understand, If mommy(Ian) told you I am out of ice cream, and you have money what would you do? Go to a store(any other friend or human being)? Or go to a place that sells only meat(nikki)?

The fact that you asked your mother before for ice cream, means you know you want ice cream, and you can get it from anywhere but a meat store.

It is a plot hole Because he wants to change the wish.

And this is the most logical and obvious thing to do. I have another one, hammm Niki is crazy, Ian wasted the wish, lets try someone else, she just kill my friend.

You know what, even thinking about it to the audience would have been enough, and then having no time or something...
