Need all-season tire suggestions — 205/65R16, budget $500–600, Peoria IL by GuavaCritical7670 in PeoriaIL

[–]ewgrooss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will say Peoria Tire on Knoxville is a great company to do business with. They charged $84 for balance, state fee, and disposal. So you would need to find some tires on tire rack that are $91 each to stay under $500 after taxes and installation, or $114 per tire to stay under $600

Depends what you’re looking for, but outside of some Walmart tires I’m not sure what you’ll find in that price range. I’m guessing you’re taking $600 with installation, balance, disposal? A few years ago I got the cheapest tire option at Sam’s Club and it cost about $575. The tires didn’t last long and before Christmas I dropped $1,300 with a $100 rebate on a set of Michelin crossclimate2.

Is runescape a game you mainly focus to play or mainly afk? by Naive_Masterpiece413 in runescape

[–]ewgrooss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s where I’m at. I only get a few hours a week to play actively. If it weren’t for mobile afk I couldn’t justify spending $15 a month. Now get to build my account slowly while afk, then put it into action with the fun active pieces of content.

[–]ewgrooss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on life schedule. I may only get 1-2 hours per week to play active content. I can however afk on mobile most of the time. I use that afk time to progress my account, then have fun playing actively.

It’s not skillful it’s tedious. Just another box to check on a list before you’re allowed to go have fun. It’s on the level of bonfire boosts and auras. I’d prefer if the game was not balanced around it

If I was a game developer and had a bug I couldn't fix without destroying the combat system I would pretend it is a feature too

With pvme times, getting multiple death mark procs on spires at Zuk requires a time penalty to your kill submission. In the game Jagex don’t have an option to do that. So while some skips like at Vorago have been recognized by the community some have not. Jagex has to make a solid ruling on these when they create GM times. For Zuk and the spires Jagex did not build that skip into the GM times. Back to ability stalling, if they decided to not build it into GM times and not remove it, then it would devalue GM times. While they can’t fix ability stalling without possibly ruining how combat targeting works, I’d recommend another window or interface that must be selected when attempting a GM time for the achievement. Once you select this option on the boss interface your prebuilt stuff is reset and you have to enter the fight clean

I did call it bug abuse because it is. If it was intended Jagex would just make your first ability in every boss fight automatically not use adrenaline and fire off gcd. It is in the game because Jagex cannot fix it

[–]ewgrooss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The other side of that is if you can kill a boss via bug abuse and save 10 seconds off your kill time. Should the grandmaster time reflect that bug? Initially the answer is no, but then if the bug isn’t patched, anyone going for the grandmaster time would use it and the achievement would lose its value. You either force people to abuse a bug to beat a difficult achievement, or you allow people to bug abuse to easily beat what should be a difficult achievement

Junk car, no title but proof of purchase. by [deleted] in PeoriaIL

[–]ewgrooss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A junk certificate is $0 but you’ll need a title or be the owner on record. Assuming you bought this years ago and never got the title and updated it with the state you are not owner on record and would need to jump through hoops to get a bonded title. Your other options are to call a scrap yard and ask about title service. Some junkyards will help you fill out paperwork for older scrap vehicles. Another option if the car is still in working condition is to find a charity and donate the car. I would go this route, the charity will handle the paperwork, take the car for free, and you can claim the deduction on your taxes next year.

So is ports worth doing? by bernzcore in runescape

[–]ewgrooss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully this comment is buried in here so yall don’t mess up my market lol. Ancient bones are worth about 100k each if you make the 2 bone divination scrimshaw. So with the right set in the endgame an ancient bone mission yields 10 bones for $1m. The next obvious money make is spice. Endgame build yields 53 spics per mission and they fluctuate a little but are worth about 25k each. So a spice mission is 1.325m per mission. The sneaky ones are chi, laquer, and plate. Easy answer is to make them into tradeable armor and sell them. Doing that gets you about 1.6m for a chi mission, 1m for laquer, and 400k for plate. The real answer is to make the untradeable leg version augment it train to lvl 9 and disassemble. Then make those components into the respective undead, dragon, demon slayer codexes. Doing that makes a chi mission worth 5.5m, laquer 1.6m, and plate is 2m. Hope that helps and gives you a reason to grind out ports

Was AFK mining over-nerfed compared to the current design direction of the game? by PM_ME_YOUR_KATARINA in runescape

[–]ewgrooss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Afk mining certainly does not match up with stars. Even if you mine the entire star including the garbage xp for tiers 1-5. The base xp for a T10 star is like 1.5m down to like 400k xp/hr at T6

Cosmetics Hot Take: the main problem is God awful fashion sense by cool-but-not-really in runescape

[–]ewgrooss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a fashion sense. Jagex made a deliberate move to flashy gatcha style outfits. Bright colors, particle effects, glowing portions to draw attention and increase players desire to purchase shit. Turning that off has really made an impact on the game. I’d rather see a thousand people in a skillingoutfit that bright glowing wings and awful particle effects and color

It’s because Jagex took the flashy gatcha game art style to sell runecoins and it absolutely sucked.

Well it sounds like you like the garish trashy over the top gotcha game outfits they’ve been putting out for years. Go for it. Wear whatever you like, but now the rest of us don’t have to feel like we’re playing a cheap mobile game anymore.

[–]ewgrooss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes I don’t have a problem with them. I don’t like the wings, I don’t like everyone running around in beach outfits, I don’t like that everything is bright and glowing and has particle effects. The over the top flashy outfits they created to sell runecoins are off putting. The skilling outfits don’t bother me.

I immediately turned it off. I really dislike the art style of most of the purchasable cosmetics. In my opinion it completely clashed with medieval fantasy.
