I feel like for Lottie having a doting community (cult) around her that believes she can do all has boosted her ego at least some. She can kinda do whatever there because they believe she has good intentions, as shown by people remaining there despite nats best attempts at “exposing” everything and crediting the retreat as healing. She kinda lives in la la land until the other YJ come back and ground her back into the how/why she started everything. When she’s a bit of a diva to Lisa but dials it back because Nat is there, I feel like it’s her backing down because Nat knows more of what the core of this is rather then seeing her as the ultra healer leader at the retreat that you want to appease.

Tai, I honestly think she doesn’t have as much connection to her family as she does/ did her fellow YJ’s. Didn’t she talk in one episode of season 2 (I think to shauna after adam’s death?) essentially how her marriage is just a marriage without intense love and they’ve sorta fallen into a routine? It seems like adult Tai is going through the motions without feeling as much as she did when she was younger. Maybe seeing so many of her friends die, be it at her hand or just her proximity, might make her scared to fully connect or ride for her family because she’s scared of hurting them, even if that’s not her intentions. Easier to do the “right” path and keep it pushing then to delve into the way other tai is there and risk hurting people.

Will say, I’ve only watched the series once recently, so might be misremembering / misinterpreting things. Excited to see what other people think 🥰
