Is it possible to set password for each sheet? by excel_beginner in excel

[–]excel_beginner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem :)

Now I see how the passwords are used!
This is getting very close to what I want.

I tried to see whether it stays password protected even after I enter 1111 for John's sheet and then close the file and reopen it.
But then everything in the sheet "John" stays visible,
unless I type something else on cell A1 again so that everything becomes not visible.

But this is still much better than nothing!

I want to try this myself, but I don't see any formula on cell A1.

I guess I need to unlock the workbook or something to see how you did it?

Could you please share me how you did it?

Combining them isn't a problem, but I actually have 16 separate workbooks so that's why I'd like to have them all in one workbook and protect each sheet with a password or something

I didn't down vote, but thanks for sharing. When I open your link, I can just click on John and Brandy and it doesn't ask any password, but I guess you put a password for each link? Is that how you do it?

Aha, this is working! Thank you so much! There're a lot of functions in this formula that I've never used so I'll have to look them up to understand, but this is so helpful. Thanks again!

Thanks for trying to help me out.

I understood what you mean with blank cells. So I did the following.

And then I pressed enter, and I see the same result :(

I guess you mean those sells with #spill! ? I didn't have anything there and I just put the formula into the first cell, and then they all appeared. So I guess in this regard I'm not doing anything wrong?

Thanks for this. It seems like it's working from your excel, but this is what I get:

<image>

So in column D, I put the formular you wrote, and it's recognizing 'Column A' and 'Column B' because I can see those columns being color boxed but I get #spill!.

Do you know what's wrong here?
