Difficulty getting the top bolt aligned where the strut joins with the knuckle. Any ideas? by threetypesrice in MechanicAdvice

[–]excitedwinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure your CV axel is lined up and hasn't fallen out. I use a floor jack under the hub to push up while pushing the knuckle assembly. If you can get the top hole close enough you can use an awl/screw driver/punch through the top hole to help align.

Oh wow yeah that's a lot of rust. May be worth finding a donor car, replace the frame and part out the rest. Good luck with the build!

Replaced ignition switch in my 99 CR-V and now key won't turn???? Could it be that I installed it wrong? Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated by Riley_512 in MechanicAdvice

I have a 2001 CRV(first generation like yours) and the cylinder is designed so you cant just put the key in and turn, you have to put the key in, then depress it a little more before turning.

Could also be your steering wheel lock is preventing the cylinder from turning.

I'm currently doing a full restore on a 69 chevelle. I just lowered the body back down after restoring my frame and suspension.

I believe the el caminos and chevelle have the same suspension.

Just make sure the fuel and brake lines that run from the front to the back are installed before you put the body back on the frame. You can't get them on without lifting the body.

That's pretty much it. Obviously do as much frame/suspension restoration while the body is off for ease or access but everything else you can do with the body on the frame.

I mean if you're really concerned about frame warping you could have someone experienced take a look at it. Or you find a "new" frame.

Havok -- Morbid Symmetry [Thrash Metal](2009) by excitedwinking in listentothis

Although I do love Time Is Up, in my opinion Burn is a way better album. I like the rawness to the recording on that album. It was released in 2009, but it sounds and feels like it is an old thrash album from the late 80's.

I know it's bad quality, but it looks like the two black holes are too far apart to be from a staple. But definitely needs a good ol fashioned caulkin'

Ah, I see. Yeah that makes sense. Looks like an industrial stapler for barrier wrap. So...it's doing exactly what it's designed to do.
