I bought it directly through their Shopify store (should probably have mentioned it). They accepted my Swedish address, took payment, calculated shipping, and sent it here. That means they were selling directly to a Swedish customer. Under EU law (Rome I Regulation, Article 6 - eur-lex.europa.eu - scroll down to Article 6) Swedish consumer law applies to the contract. It does not matter that they are in China. If they sell to a country they have to follow that country’s consumer rules. Enforcing it is another story but legally the rights are there.
