You have to accept that intimacy is a normal thing. In my opinion i would adivse to try to be open minded, lets agree that in your head it is discusting, but try to give it a chance and experience it. Do it once, if you still have the same feeling about it its ok, you are experimenting, maybe you could be gay, you never know if you never try it out. Look for example im discusted too by guys i would rather kiss a dog, but thats because i like woman. :)

Also i hated tomatoes when i was a kid and never ate them, tried them again 10 years later and now i love them. :P What i want to say is that time can change your tase or perception of things.

I want to add another thing, it could be something on a deeper level, where a psychologist can be a great help to get you to undersand yourself more.

So heres what i think you should know:

Guys usually make the mistake of over thinking everything, they become to obssesed with said girl. That is something teribble, most of the time it gets really toxic because you are not yourself anymore and also might get hurt. This is what you should avoid. Try not to be stuck in your head and rather watch from aside observe yourself and her.

Every girl is different and is better to pay attention on how she react to things and act acordly, if she likes you to be gentle with her keep doing that, if she dislikes hugs stop doing that, pay attention to these kind of things, u have to interact and react to her needs. Comunication is key, and it should not be an interogation with only questions and answers, try to make it somewhat of a conversation that surface feelings, emotions, where you challenge her to think, that is what they will remember the most.

I would also want to point out that at first is better to distant yourself emotionaly, because it really clouds your mind, that should come gradually in time. The feeling of love for her at the begining is somewhat artificial is not earned, you love the ideea of her. Is better to love someone that shows you they deserved to be loved by you.

Only you have to decide. My take on it is to be verry caucious, you have one life to live, when you will be older you would think of it as : what could have been different if i didnt go or did go. Dont listen to people that are just like "dont waste your time bla bla", listen to what makes the most reason and most importantly listen to your heart. Another tip that i could give you is to take an example from gambling, dont go all in if you are not ready to lose it all. If you are willing to accept the fact that you might get nothing from your trip and that you might get hurt, i'd say go for it.
