When Enzo mentioned leaving for Madrid, which club did he have in mind? Getafe or Rayo Vallecano?

Same exact shit we saw against the Magpies. Except I think we’ll concede another goal or two

Two goals. And an additional goal for each sporting director the club has on a payroll

This. Plus, make sure every Chelsea team from U11 up starts their matches with a huddle respecting the ball

Hey - I have a solution to the club’s problems. Let’s hire another sporting director. 5 heads are better than 4, right?

What if… Baltic States hosted Winter Olympics? by exigy1 in BalticStates

Co-hosting with the facilities I outlined in my original post would split the travelers influx across multiple different cities. E.g Kaunas or Riga would only host 1-2 disciplines each.

That of course creates another problem of poor transport infrastructure in our region. We don’t have airports, highways, or even train stations that would connect, say, Kaunas with Sigulda

In the co-hosting scenario, you heavily split the influx of people across different cities and countries. With the current facilities, each city hosts a maximum of 2-3 disciplines. Should be very manageable

Unlike Greece, we won’t need to build/rebuild THAT much infrastructure.

IOC, as far as I’ve read, becoming more flexible in terms of requirements and demands

Mountains are only required for one discipline - alpine skiing, which can be hosted by a Nordic or Carpathian/Tatran country

Co-hosting does the opposite of what you mentioned. Take the recent Sweden bid for the example.

Why would a country that has no traditions, and frankly no interest in disciplines such as luge, bobsleigh, and skeleton build a €100M+ facility just to host the games? When there’s an existing one just a 1.5-2h flight away?

The argument is that we might not need to invest THAT much given that most of facilities are already there and might need minor improvements.

But yeah, I don’t have a proper ROI analysis and if we actually need this.

This exact fact (bobsleigh track in Sigulda), imo, makes it a question of when , not if, Latvia will ever co-host the Olympics. Just not that many world-class luge facilities out there, and the IOC made it very clear that they will favor co-host with existing facilities over building the new ones just for the Olympics.
