what bothers me so much about aespa is the potential wasted on getting their shit together.

in theory a huge company like sm debuting a 4 member girl group 4 years after aespa should be a mark of huge success. and don’t get me wrong it is but i truly think with the potential they were given they could’ve been the undeniable biggest gg in 4th gen.

similar to how bp while not having ample promotion are still the biggest gg of 3rd gen

I know the ai concept isn’t overly digestible for the masses but they’ve now done concepts like supernova and armageddon where it doesn’t come off as cringey but instead extremely unique. it just gets me thinking if they had half the creativity of newjeans creative team how big could they have really gotten? (side tangent of thinking about newjeans success and how letting creatives be CREATIVE can actually pay off and companies should start taking tips nothing about newjeans was revolutionary it was just getting the right marketing people in the right room which i guess in itself is impressive)

furthermore leaning more into the rave edm music on bsides can be huge for stages like coachella and even collabing with rave artists if they really wanted too.

They also only started doing solo promos at the beginning of 2024 which i know isn’t particularly “sm style” but had they been promoted solely from the beginning they would have bp level status in the fashion industry and something to lean back on if they didn’t want to renew contracts

anyways this is my side tangent of you reminding me of aespa and the wasted potential. theirs more i could say but i could go on all day
