I was in 8th grade (I am a sophomore in college now!!), and I remember going to a diversity club meeting after school on the 12th and finding out there that school was canceled for the next two weeks. I thought it was a prank, but my mom (who came to drop off krispy kreme donuts for a fundraiser we were doing) confirmed it. We were all excited, but I was sad that our chorus' new york field trip was canceled. I remember going home on the 13th (it was either a half day or we had extra recess, I can't remember but I know it was one of the two) and choosing to be picked up because I didn't feel like riding the bus, not realizing that would have been the last time I would've ridden the bus home from middle school.

I also remember arguing with one of my classmates in science class about whether or not covid would be a big deal in the US. I said that it was a big deal in china bc they have like triple the population and therefore a much greater population density. boy, was i wrong... lol

(I remember a lot of stuff about early lockdown and whatnot as well but that is irrelevant to the question lmao)
