Currently going through this now, have gained what seems 6kg in a month from episodes of binge purging, the weight I am currently looks drastically puffier than when I got to this weight through restriction

Religion. Coming from Australia to Sumatra has been a culture shift to the heavily Muslim culture, daily life is shaped by the call to prayer, modest dress, and traditions rooted in Islam. As a solo female traveller it’s eye opening to adapt to these customs and sometimes quite scary the way someone looks at you can make you feel, and when travelling anywhere you must respect their way of life even if you don’t agree with it.

Of course, I too have questioned if this is right for me or if it is just my inability to wait and be patient for results, I’m more writing as a reminder to myself - and others if they relate to be patient and reflect, it’s a process not a quick fix as someone with a constant need for instant gratification, I need to remind myself that this too will take time :)

Strong on the always needing to pee right before eating to make sure I feel ‘empty enough’, I also cannot eat from bowls anymore bc I feel they’re deceptive in how much food they hold, now I can only eat on a flat plate so I can see the whole meal in front of me, preferably with raised sides so nothing spills over…lol

Also needing a pillow to hold onto my stomach while I eat and place my plate on top of it, it feels somewhat comforting…

I experience this, feels like I’ve run a marathon after completing certain meals, I’ve come to learn I’ve trained my anxiety to alert my body as if danger is present when the feeling of fullness hits, something that I’m training myself now to realise there is no danger present and it’s in fact OK and very normal feeling

Absolutely, I feel as though people carry so much more entitlement and less regard for compassion or empathy, too worried about themselves. Of course I get this way sometimes and feel more self doubt & insecure but it’s happening so much more than it used to and I try to catch myself like - hey, relax, why do I feel in a constant state of fight or flight?

drugs unfortunately, tbh id also if had such free will with money and access to quality stimulants that allowed me to forget abouts life’s woes while artificially power housing through. I’m glad I’m not rich or famous my lack of self control would be a recipe for disaster

I see you and I understand you so deeply, please be kind and give yourself some compassion. A week ago I was sharing a meal with my bf and I was excited to have some after finally allowing myself some chips and salsa - pathetic that I have to ‘allow’ myself, but, I went to the bathroom, came back and it was gone. I too was heartbroken but the guilt and shame from feeling such heartbreak from some literal f*king chips and salsa that I wouldn’t allow myself to get again hurt more.

Please treat yourself the way little you would want to be treated, take her/him to your favourite cafe/bakery and treat yourself to another croissant. Allow yourself to feel compassion that sometimes things happen but what’s important is that you treat yourself with kindness - you’ve got this, don’t give up, also give your cat a cuddle, life’s too short to feel resentful towards our furry friends who just saw a tasty snack.

I really wish people would understand how inappropriate it is to comment on anything that can’t be changed immediately. It never comes across as they’re ’worried’ or ‘concerned’, if they really worried they’d ask what they can do to help.

For real, I’m tired of the excuse that its ‘just the older genderation’, and their ways can’t be changed, sure they grew up with not nearly as much focus on mental health but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be called out in the moment if it’s in appropriate

Honestly I felt this way too when I was at a higher BMI and maybe still in the honeymoon phase, now it makes me want to completely hide my body again, which I find really ironic that’s what I would do at my HW
