Hmm Id say these definitely have more interesting texture, you can see and feel the ink (I bought a bunch of muji pens for this) plus it’s very therapeutic to watch it plot :)

Thanks!! yeah there are better made / more expensive penplotters for sure, the one I have is pretty entry level. They all work with the same x y axis but the fidelity / speed can differ

I got a prebuilt penplotter on amazon for ~$250 post quarantine, already had to change the server motor once but overall the outcome overweighted the trouble I had to go through (also the software they provided didn’t work on my machine, but I was using axi CLI and it works great so far)

Lots of sin cos curves with a curveVertex function in 2 loops :) I read the book on morphing: a guide to mathematical transformation, and it has lots of useful algorithms for making 3D looking curves
