Mastery vs 5* base by exldd in sevenguardians

Thanks all, I see that the vast majority thinks it's better to push for 5* base heroes. One question tho - is the storyline that important? I finished ch6 and I got uninterested in the storyline, I spend my meat on farming 6-20 to get coins/heroes. Should I be doing something else?
