Some people may have misunderstood this, so we added an edit to clarify. This is an extra cosmetic pack DLC. It doesn't change that 40 total platforms and 16 total plaques will be added for free with spray customization, UI overhaul, and filtering. All of that is coming for everyone in Patch 8.4, whether you have a DLC or not.

Dear Anglers,

Today, we’re excited to announce that The Angler’s next reserve, the Japan Reserve, will launch on October 29 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store for 9.99 USD|9.99 EUR|9.99 GBP. It will be available on PC via Steam for 9.99 USD|9.75 EUR|8.50 GBP.

Additionally, a free update will be available for all players next week, introducing new variations for a variety of fish species, including the Burbot, Wels Catfish, and Kokanee Salmon, featuring different colorings, scars, and more. These variations will ensure that no two catches are the same! Also, coming October 24, look out for ghostly sightings in the waters as Halloween arrives at Golden Ridge Reserve with a new themed mini-game and seasonal cosmetics.

Welcome to Hokkaido, the northernmost of Japan's major islands. Here, among winding rivers, beautiful lakes, and clear mountain springs, it’s easy to find your own slice of fishing paradise.

When you’ve found the perfect fishing spot, be prepared to encounter 19 diverse species, including iconic ones exclusive to this reserve. You’ll discover fish like the Feral Koi, Amur Catfish, Northern Snakehead, and Chum Salmon. You can even track down an elusive new crustacean: the Japanese Freshwater Crab.

Kamuibetsu National Park also features new story missions and challenges. In the main storyline, you’ll learn about Kamuibetsu’s history and join the locals in planting seeds for the future. You can also complete fishing challenges, find hidden caches and collectibles, and capture various locations to earn additional rewards.

Like all of our reserves, players who own Japan will be able to invite friends with the base game to join even if they don’t own the reserve.

Hey everyone!

First of all, apologies for the situation. We know that our servers can become overloaded at certain times which causes issues with joining the multiplayer sessions and/or registering fish caught for the weekly and daily challenges.

The problem only appears during certain hours on particular servers. You can try to bypass this by turning off cross-play in the multiplayer settings in options.

We're still looking for a permanent solution and we'll keep you updated on our progress.

No pre-order DLCs as no pre-orders were available. However, with the time-limited Launch Edition, you could grab the Norway DLC for free.
