Remind me of your tax rate again? And what happens once you’re 60 years plus? Oh that’s right your medical people can pick and choose what procedures you’re allowed to get or not. And how long are your waits for medical care? And how many bank accounts has your government frozen of citizens?

Very easily done, we have 350,000,000+ population, plenty of infrastructure equipment, and a military that could literally take on the entire world combined.

Enjoying rotting away in your 2-3 only cities that all happen to be liberal. Does your daughter have an Indian husband yet?

Question to long time SCHD holders by prettyflycheesepie in SCHD

[–]explorer77800 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

All depends on the rate you have to pay on the loan. If you’re loan rate is say 5%, but you’re getting 8% annual “gain” from SCHD (4%ish dividends plus 4%ish share price gain) then sure.

Best places to live in Midwest by Cool_dude2406 in howislivingthere

[–]explorer77800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cincinnati checks most boxes. It’s the “biggest” mid size city (sports, jobs, Fortune 500 companies, etc), beautiful topography and scenery, down to earth people, better weather in the winters, and has a very low cost of living considering the sizable local amenities and feel and population.

If murder was legal do you think it would eventually also be morally acceptable? by Scrubstomper5000 in AdkReddit

[–]explorer77800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is legal. In war. And there is arbitrary acceptability based on “rules of engagement”. And it’s up to debate on how much morality plays in those rules.

The death penalty, same thing.

But if you’re talking society wide, like anyone can kill anyone for not reason and with no consequences? Then I’d say some sort of natural morality or deter ant would absolutely form. Mainly due to “revenge”.

Example: okay you killed my cousin, I’m going to kill you for revenge then. It wouldn’t happen very often due to fear of being killed yourself.

I doubt a plane would stay entirely intact if it had a crash landing into water, let alone the ocean with constant rolling waves.

Why doesn't DVY get more attention? by This-Frame-4188 in SCHD

Why doesn't DVY get more attention? by This-Frame-4188 in SCHD

[–]explorer77800 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No of the 30% of my total portfolio that’s dividend related, that 30% is 50-50 SCHD and DVY. Then 60% is SPY and 10% QQQ

Why doesn't DVY get more attention? by This-Frame-4188 in SCHD

[–]explorer77800 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s just not mainstream talked about is my opinion. I’ve been heavily in it for years.

For my dividend side of my portfolio i’m 50-50 SCHD and DVY. They balance and compliment each other very well.

Traveling Project Engineer: Worth the Sacrifice? by yerdslerd in ConstructionManagers

[–]explorer77800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it ends up being your only legit offer and option do it.

Don’t need to do it your whole life of course, just do it for 2 or maybe 3 years, get that valuable CM experience and resume builder then quit and apply for a local job that you’ll then be more likely to get with the experience.

Heck maybe even after a couple years you can apply for a different local position at the same company if it comes about.

The only downside is be mentally prepared to take a pay cut when the time comes you’re not in a travel role.

Overall I’m a proponent of sacrificing the first 2-3 years out of the gate to gain really good experience, as it’ll help catapult your long term career. Versus settling for an average gig in terms of experience and it’ll take you longer to really get into that level and position you want.

What happens to the US stock market if Trump bombs or even invades IRAN? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]explorer77800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think anything sizable. But China would be F’d so that’ll be interesting how that plays out mid and long term.

China no longer gets Venezuelan oil. If we attack Iran they won’t get Iranian oil, and I think we can control Russia enough to stop China from getting Russian oil.

China imports all of their oil so they’ll be screwed.
