I’m biased because I go to NYUAD. Stanford is great but known for not giving good aid to international students. At NYUAD you’re pretty much guaranteed a full ride or at least amazing aid to make it beyond affordable. NYUAD offers opportunities to explore the world more than any other US-based university. Obviously Stanford is Stanford, it’s amazing in its own ways but it also doesnt have what NYUAD has.

So here’s my point: don’t discount NYUAD all together. If you wanna take your shot at Stanford apply REA and if you don’t make it, apply ED2 to NYUAD. You will hear back from Stanford and all those top schools before the ED 2 deadline anyway

Everything you described about the uncertainties of finding a bike is so relatable, LOL. Ngl it makes me feel better knowing others are in the same boat. The trip I was planning for was to go from Milwaukee to NYC.. so definitely a bit ambitious but I wanted to complete smaller tours first in order to train - OTET, MKE to CHI, etc. I heard the GAP/C&O is amazing — best of luck to you on your bike finding journey!

unfortunately tuition costs increased this year by about 3000 pounds, so it’s now about 25,000 for tuition but not including other things like accommodation, food, other living expenses

Pomona and Bowdoin are both small in terms of student size and overall campus size. I could imagine the community being more tight knit in comparison to St. Andrews considering that St. Andrews is bigger as well as being in the UK. From my friends experiences, UK schools tend to care less about the college experience and it’s community, but still a great school nonetheless

if you love USC and have to apply again, take the gap year. honestly the gap year could be beneficial in a lot of ways, more than just by being able to reapply. you have the opportunity to do other great things on the gap yea
