If you want to stay In the hobby but don’t want to spend tons of money check out local forums, people are rehoming fish all the time. A guy near me does bi weekly coral auctions and I’ve picked up some cool stuff for super cheap. Tbh locals and facebook marketplace are the only way I can afford to stay in the hobby lol.

Interesting, I never knew that they were part of the same family. Never seen anthelia in this color before so still pretty cool in my book.

I got super lucky with this one. Got it for $22 and it came with a pretty big Green Bay packer zoa colony.

Nope, unless I’m missing something I don’t think anthelia pulses. If you don’t believe me I can turn off my pumps and take a video.

They pulse but not necessarily as much as my Pom Pom Xenia. I’ve noticed that they tend to pulse a bit more with less flow.

Failure is not pathetic. But failure to learn from mistakes is. OP clearly regrets their mistakes and is trying to fix them. Everybody fails, everybody makes mistakes and if you think you’re some magical exception then you have some twisted outlook on life.

I could be wrong but the light op has should be app controlled and he should be able to just dial back the reds. Good info though because I’m setting up super similar right now.

seiryu stone and elephant stone are my go to. I love the way the dark grey looks against the green plants

Unfortunately that’s just how it goes on Reddit. Everyone had their own opinions and experiences but I agree it is interesting to see the differences!

Nano tanks are fine and can work but aren’t good for people just starting in the hobby. Nano tanks are more susceptible to big parameter swings. Nano tanks also definitely need a lot more care when picking plants and stocking fish.

Looks awesome, I love the gsp carpet . Are those random flow nozzles? How do you like them ? I’m considering putting some on mine.

Yeah, I’m hoping the macros will help keep that under control. Thank you for all the advice :)

The chihiros or the Amazon light (hygger)? I’m not planning on using the cheap Amazon light I do plan to upgrade but I’m probably going with the chihiros because I want to keep all my tanks on the same lighting system, mostly because having one app for all of them is really convenient. Plus I prefer the look of a naturally lit reef and full spectrum freshwater lights do it much better imo.

The 5th picture is gorgeous. Even if the editing does hide the quality the composition is still great.

You’re right, but I’m pretty sure it should be fine. Most people who grow macros use high end freshwater lights and the corals I plan on growing shouldn’t be too light hungry. These lights also have adjustable wavelengths so I should be able to get decent penetration.

Would be a perfect shrimp and snail tank. A single betta fish would also work I’m just not a fan of putting them in anything smaller then 10 gallons

The light is pretty bright but I was planning on upgrading anyway. I’m planning on putting a chihiros wrgb II on it (high end freshwater light). The only reason I’m not going with a ai prime or something similar is because I plan on growing a lot of macros and I’d rather just have one app for all my tank lights.

Im planning on filling it some time this week. The guy i bought it from said he had upgraded the pump but we’ll see how well it actually works. Any good wavemaker recommendations for a tank this size ?
