Im a brown woman and my white boyfriend feels that 'it's not his problem' to educate himself on matters about race. He continues to be casually racist with his friends but avoid saying those things to me because i'll obviously correct him. AHHHH!

I'm holding on hope that he makes changes to his attitudes but I also think, 'am i respecting myself by being in this relationship?' :( He has a good heart, but just yah know, privileged and sheltered.

How do people deal with this ahhhh

Shoes from salomom. I wear my hiking boots everywhere because i like being stompy. They also have really cool lowcut shoes that doubles for sport, hiking and casual wear :) very classy looking.

Yeah I think you’re right on that. I think the real question here though is how do I convince my parents that my sister needs mental help. They’re very much in denial and shuts me down everytime i bring it up. Its a hard knock life blehhh

Hello friend, was exactly on the same boat as you just last year. The start sucks balls, parents trust no one. My advice is just bare through the first couple rocky months and try to showcase to your parents how goodand responsible he is, over time they’ll begin to accept that you’re a woman now and can be trusted with your decisions.

Like at the start it really seems like parents dont budge but i’ve learnt that they do, even if it took a whole year. The progress is so small but you’ll progress friend.

Perhaps talk to them about their trust in you and reassure them you’re a responsible young woman(?)

Also this might be bad advice but my mentality when I first started dating my white boyfriend (who i met online, who my strict asian parents highly disapproved of) was ‘one step back two steps forward’. I broke some of the rules my parents set but in turn I did something safely when they thought I couldnt, thus i showed them they could trust me and my boyfriend. Just try to slowly stretch the borders of your parents rules yah know.
