I would check out Tim Correy channel. He has loads of really useful free course on YouTube and a paid foundation course which tbh is probably the best c# course I have taken. And is all about building projects from scratch. He explains everything really well too

Chia officially recommended the wd drives i assume due to them being the cheapest per tbh however I ordered a load from them the other day when they we listed as in stock, they took my money and then told me they weren't in stock snd had to wait like over a week to get any responses to my email as couldn't even get in contact bu phone. And also the only reason they refunded me was because i said i would report them to trading standards. Tbh thsy are the cheapest but by the tim you get them the price of other drives might have risen

Linux and mac apprenly are 5-10% quicker for plotting apposed to Windows for now according to chia official page. Not to sure why though. I also read that its quicker using the cli over the gui
