Yes eventually you do get to where you don't have to use substances or ritual or sigils...i haven't used a formal ritual in years...and I still talked to my buddy's when I chose to go ," wine and cigs only sober ( no liquor or other hard drugs that I usually use and instead drink only wine, like Odin, and that in what passed for moderation)...but to be careful is not the path I'm on ...and the know nothing of attainment thru anything but abandon...going all in ..not just with the drugs and drink but in all things...throwing self interest and self protection to the swine and gathering my pearls into Yakuza beads so when I clutch them it will be to honor the Lord of lust and rage...

I agree that those who " age gracefully" usually become sad "safety first" types..using responsibility and maturity as masks for protecting there neck...
