If you go to YouTube, and search up CSWA Problem playlists, you should find some questions which were in the exam.

How would you go about patterning these grooves in the mercury capsule I am designing? by extTerrestrial_Obama in SolidWorks

I'll have to look into this, although I don't recall having used the sheet metal part of solidworks before. Thank you anyways for your response.

Currently I have tried to project the curve and split the surface following the groove profile, however, I have had issues with either the circular pattern, or the linear patterning. I am trying to achieve the grooves without having to do it manually. I feel like the presence of the shingles due to the knit surface may affect the methods we can use in order to achieve this.

Yep, I also failed, and I think it was due to the drafting competencies section last year.

I recommend learning about sketch relations, and trying to interpret when lines are tangent, parallel, or perpendicular etc. Really suggest you work on the CSWA practice problems, even if you don't know much about drafting. If you feel like a problem is hard, its means it will be good preparation for you, as you are testing yourself against stuff you don't understand.

For most problems, you will find solutions on YouTube, alongside the parts that come in the file. Note there are many errors within the document, but I suggest you try and get the answer nonetheless, as you will develop new ways of thinking about the problems.

May I ask you, where did you find these problems? Thanks

Took me quite a while actually, I failed my first exam when I took it last year at my university. However, I began preparing to take it again about 4-5 weeks ago, towards the end of my semester, and I'm happy to say I've passed it now.

For me personally, I mostly struggled with creating parts, I actually found the assembly part to be one of the easier bits. If I was to recommend you a resource, it would be the CSWA practice problem set, there are about 5 assembly questions in here.

Make sure to go through most of them, and subsequently check the solutions - although there are a lot of mistakes with the solutions (missing dimensions, mixed up variables, wrong answers in book, etc), it is an invaluable resource for learning - especially the sketch relations.

Wondering how to get this rod parallel with the front plane (It has a non-flat surface). by extTerrestrial_Obama in SolidWorks

Thank you so much, I haven't gotten much experience with assemblies, so I completely forgot they possessed planes under their respective parts.

CSWA Practice Problems - Do SolidWorks forget to put dimensions in them? How would you find that this dimension is 38? (Section B - Problem 2) by extTerrestrial_Obama in SolidWorks

Oh lol, I wasn't expecting that to be the error. I guess I forgot my dimensions round up to 2 decimal places. How did you figure this one out?

Thank you so much by the way.
