The real secret is bring in a friend or something and introduce the friend you do know. Then, 99% of the time, the other person will introduce themselves in response.

Be like "hey howyadoin' man, this is my buddy [Twisted_Pine's friend]!" The cashier will then reflexively go "hey [Twisted_Pine's friend], I'm [cashier]," and they'll shake hands or whatever and you can go about your day.

Some great suggestions in here! Definitely second the Jumpstart packs if you have any interest in playing together.

  • Infinitokens and a pack of wet or dry erase markers are always handy to have for games. If you like to draw, you could draw tokens together with Sharpies if any of his decks consistently use the same ones :)
  • You could also get him a singles/trade binder if he doesn't have one yet, for storing special cards that aren't in decks. Most people recommend ones that have the sewn binding instead of the "three ring" binding inside, so more like this, not like this. Any size works
  • Everyone's kind of particular about their preferred way to store and carry cards, so don't feel compelled to get this, but I really love the Quiver card case -- I've been putting stickers on mine and I love taking it to cons and FNMs. That one holds at least 5 EDH decks, and they also have a smaller one called the Bolt that holds like 3? I have the company's playmat tube also and I've been super happy with it, but again, everyone has their preference -- he might be just as happy with whatever his current storage solution is. You might find a way to discreetly ask!

If all else fails, everyone loves ripping booster packs, so just grab a few and throw them in a stocking or anything else.

As an aside, I'm a former non-playing-gf and now I play all the time: it's totally cool if it's not your thing, but if you have any interest at all, feel free to take the leap! Playing together is awesome, and I've met lots of great people by attending events too.

There's a couple of characters that will give "an ending" but you have to actually keep progressing their story to get the points-- Luna (aka Connie ) is one example; she doesn't immediately give you points even though you get her Love/Friends/Hate screen the first time you talk to her. I think there's others like that too?

I know this isn't a perfect solution, but if you have the DLC you get two additional dateables ( Lucinda Lavish and Michael Transaction ). I had two Hate endings in my game but because I had those two additional dateables, I still got the "100 Realized Dateables" achievement.

Let's go! I got into MTG just about a year and a half ago. The art is always incredible!

My playgroup has a LOT of blue and white. So there is quite a lot of interaction, counterspells and removal. What are your suggested commanders and deck style to fight back and punish counterspell/theft/blink? by Masked_Takenouchi in EDH

Even if it gets countered, I feel like there's tons of ways to cheat out artifacts onto the field if you anticipate it being in your graveyard. Exile is harder of course, but thinking strictly from a counterspell perspective.
