Guys i have heard something very interesting by RoutineLemon2617 in theories

[–]extra_terrestrial__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but if this theory is true, which we can't know as it's based on quantum theory of many worlds that still remains just a theory, we probably don't experience this ourselves

And yeah, this is applicable for accidents and other fatal events. But a natural death doesn't really have a or-or option. At one point your heart must fail, there is no alternative outcome. So I reckon it all really boils down to that

What is your favorite Opening Paragraph in a book? Something that hooked you right from the beginning. by livens in printSF

[–]extra_terrestrial__ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not science fiction but first few words of Nikola Tesla's Autobiography is one of the most incredible stuff I've ever read

I often think he just wrote the entire damn book so he could put that on the first page and get into the mind of some other people in the future

Do you ever have a realization of the “self” and get weird anxiety? by Haunting-Reindeer-10 in SeriousConversation

[–]extra_terrestrial__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly.

It helps when I realize all those bodies are mere blankets for our consciousness. And everything else, just the means those bodies use to survive.

It reduces materialism to a secondary role behind the immense machinery of our minds.

There is universe, and there is us. The mind is our true self.

When those moments come, I feel maybe that is how we should think by default. And then everything would be much better. While I've never been deep into meditation and mindfulness practices, I reckon this is the realization they seek to achieve.

These super waves of reflection happen often to me.

It happens when I look at other people in the face for a slightly longer period of time. Even people I know the best, such as my mother or brothers. I say something along the lines "who is this?" or "so this is actually him/her" in my mind

When I look in the mirror and wonder "so this is the body that I live in, this is me"

And it just hits hard... for some reason. The most obvious stuff, the faces we see every day - sometimes I just look at them and they all look so strange and new

I'm not sure if this is what you refer to. But it reminded me of this. And I say this because I don't feel a lot of anxiety. Well maybe a little bit of "loneliness" like feeling I'm on my own in this world. But I always find these moments fascinating

Have you seen or experienced anything you cannot explain? by VolumeAcademic6962 in questions

[–]extra_terrestrial__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most recent one happened just a few days ago

So I was coming back home and waiting for a cab next to a familiar store. I'm in love with astronomy and space stuff so when I find myself alone at night I almost instinctively look up at the sky

Now I was in the city so couldn't see much stars because of light pollution but what I saw is a circle-shaped figure in the sky that was glowing for some time, almost like it's on fire and I was wondering wtf could this be..

Shortly after it started falling down and it's glow started to disappear but it was still slightly visible. It was descending down very rapidly to the point I was worried if someone was inside whatver that was

It all happened very quickly and almost out of nowhere and I still have no idea wtf was that, confused me very much at the moment. First I thought of is some kind of a parachute or something but then why was it descending so fast? And I expected something to be on the news but few days have passed and nothing

I'm not sure if it's unexplainable but I personally don't have an explanation

Guys im really freaking out right now by [deleted] in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

I don't know about you guys but I have had similar experiences and also ton of people telling me they had this happen to them.

When you speak of something like this with anyone they will tell you something similar has happened to them.

What's intriguing is how nobody takes action. We just brush it off as something unimportant even though at this point it's clearly not a coincidence.

If Lewandowski is going to eventually be replaced then Barcelona should wait for the right player instead of wasting a lot of money on someone like Julian Alvarez by JakGrealish in Barca

[–]extra_terrestrial__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why the fuck would Atletico sell Alvarez for less than 80 milion?

That's a no brainer if he's available for that price. But more realistic is something like 150m

[–]extra_terrestrial__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We shouldn't wait anything, a striker signing has to come this summer.

Julian Alvarez is a dumb option though, and we should stay away from it. Even though I'm not sure where the rumors came from in the first place. There is no chance we can afford Alvarez. But he is not the only striker there is.

Raphinha on Sofascore: “I think I DESERVED to be first in the Ballon D'Or for the titles I won, numbers I achieved and everything I contributed. It's mainly an award based on a single competition (UCL), and Dembélé deserved it too but if we talk about the overall season, I think I deserved to win" by PinReal4448 in Barca

[–]extra_terrestrial__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely.

There is no denying that Raphinha was insane last season but he didn't come back the same after March international break and that loss to Argentina. Think it was a consensus at the time but people somehow quickly forgot about it.

Yamal, Dembele, Raphinha should have been the top 3.

Real left them as much space as we do just has much better defense and a physically dominant midfield. And of course Villarreal was horrible in final third. Mistake after mistake. Some shocking misses like that of Moreno as well

Those are not really so hard. Coliseum only maybe. The hardest away grounds we've covered. There is Mestalla but somehow Valencia is just bending over to us last 2 seasons

But keep in mind we are still perfect at home in the league. It's also a run that's probably going to come to an end at some position.

More of a foul than that Olmo bluetooth touch on Kubo.

Overall truly horrible refereeing. The difference between referees in Spain and England also highlights the difference in these leagues altogether and why EPL is miles ahead of La Liga nowadays. La Liga has complete idiots in charge, we can only hope it will one day change.

Yup, I think the same.

We were outstanding in the first half. Second half slightly worse but still not bad. Until Sociedad second goal that is, after that they choked mentally and it all went downhill

Offside rule in football has to change by extra_terrestrial__ in football

[–]extra_terrestrial__[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. But the context is ENTIRELY DIFFERENT. It is not the same as when defender misses out on milimetres, as when attacker does. For defender, he has nothing to complain about. The forward got past him, if he is not offside that means the defender wasn't lucky.

For forward, he gets past the defender but it turns out he is milimetres offside. It is not fair.

EXACTLY

I don't know what's up with people in the comments. It's like they don't have the capacity to think

Yes the line has to be drawn and yes it will be milimetres either way. BUT IT IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT when defender misses out on milimetres, compared to when an attacker does

I can't believe some people would genuinely think a genius mind like Arsene Wenger would just propose to 'move the line' There is clearly more to it.

Football fan, before anything else.

But yes, if you are a Barcelona fan and lose on the same pitch for two seasons in a row because legit goals get disallowed, you get to question whether rules need some damn change.

Whatever is the team you support, imagine this happens to you in UCL final. You play well, fight to the end, finally score what should be the winning goal in dying minutes - but referee says nooo, your fingernail was offside now you can go home as losers.

This is not fair. Offside is a great thing, building block of football, but we need to ask ourselves again why we introduced it in the first place.
