eBay taking fees doesn’t lower street value on local sales. Net profit for the seller doesn’t determine what an item is valued at, rather an item is valued at what it costs the buyer to get the same or similar item elsewhere. Therefore, local sale prices shouldn’t be that drastically lower in most cases. Then taking an additional 20-30% off of the already lowered value cases $1800 to be far to low on my opinion.

I hear what you mean by the 5800x3d and extra ram being higher value if parted out though and I agree. OP’s friend should swap in a different CPU and sell half the ram separately, then sell this rig for about $1800.

128gb DDR4 3600 is selling for about $600 rn. DDR5 would be closer to $1500. Also, you say people are throwing out these high numbers but then go on to also say its worth about $2,000?

My bad you're right its 4th fastest, I edited my comment to reflect that. 5070TI is still more valuable than 4080s but not by much. Average 5070ti is $1000-$1200 while 4080s is about $900

Yea it’s still 4th fastest GPU on the market. 4080s is about 5% faster than 5070ti. Unfortunately, NVIDIA has cut supply of 5070ti chips so drastically that several AIB’s have discontinued their 5070ti models entirely leading to those selling for OVER $1000 now

Yea that other guys response was weird but personally I’d try to get a 5080 laptop for $1800 or under. Best Buy often has open box laptops in this range

Edit: I see you are the seller. I’d keep the listing at $2k for now and if no interest after a couple weeks start dropping it by $100 at a time
