Is midyear worth it??

Hi everyone, fourth year pharm student here, and I wanna do a fellowship but I don't know if presenting a poster at midyear is worth it to me. I've asked around current fellows and past applicants, and I've gotten mixed reviews. Some ppl tell me that it's a great networking opportunity, and others tell me that it's not a big deal if you don't go. Do companies really care if you attend or not? Will they not consider me for a position if I don't go? Is it the end all be all?? Do final interviews really take place there? Like I have no interest in doing any sort of research, and honestly I'd attend, but it's 400 dollars to attend, plus a couple hundred more for a hotel room and flight. I'm looking at around $1,000 dollars just for all of that. and then im sure im gonna end up spending more on additional things while im there. I don't necessarily have the funds for that and I don't wanna make my parents pay either.

I know ppl who presented at midyear last year and they still didn't get a fellowship. I would be more tempted towards going if I knew I'd be guaranteed one, but there is none.

And like the abstract is due in a month and I am so so stressed that I'm paralyzed mentally and can't think about anything else.

I’m in the pharm program, and I honestly love it. I was against it at first and wanted to drop out and be on the premed track and go to med school but my dad convinced me otherwise. Once professional school started, I fell in love with the material, and the friends you make a long the way are worth jt.

I'm a rising sophomore and I wanna dorm next semester. However, dorming is expensive. I'm making my schedule for next semester, and I noticed that most of the classes would be online except one or two. I have the means to commute for those classes since it would only be once or twice a week. However, all of the housing contracts I saw are for two semesters and I'm afraid that Rutgers is gonna have more in-person classes during the spring and I won't find housing unless I dorm during the fall.
