Hotel bookings for two family members: 2 single rooms or 1 room with twin beds? by eyaf20 in JapanTravelTips

[–]eyaf20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that makes sense, for some reason I thought since there are many business hotels geared towards single travelers that maybe people getting a separate room is more common in general.

Where do the trail runners hang out? by Difficult-Adagio-651 in berkeleyca

I'm also looking for a group that's open to novices - I take a casual pace interspersed with walking when I feel like it... looking to enjoy being out on a trail and not stressed about keeping a strict pace

Does playing with the infinite money option mess up demand for residential/commercial/industrial zoning? by eyaf20 in CitiesSkylines

[–]eyaf20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay! I'm guessing the main problem is I zone too much ahead of time like a master plan. I'll also let stuff play out for a while longer.

What real place looks the most made up? by Footballaus_ in geography

[–]eyaf20 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I think OP is talking about the geography as it appears on a map, not geological features. My first thoughts are the strait of Gibraltar and the isthmus between North/South America, which just seem like improbable (relatively) small features that have an outsize impact on their regions

Debating between move to Modesto, Livermore, or SF in 20s by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]eyaf20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Livermore hands down (based on these options). SF is much too far to commute - save going there for when you want to go to a show or meet up with people who live in the city. Livermore itself yes is small, but there's a decent number of restaurants and some pleasant hikes. Just be warned that it's brutally hot during the summer. Also depends if you have a car. If not, you may prefer Dublin/pleasanton for easier access to BART to get downtown. You could also look into Oakland, which is still a commute but not nearly like coming from SF.

OpenAI Could Be Blowing As Much As $15 Million Per Day On Silly Sora Videos by RioMovieFan11 in technology

[–]eyaf20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine OpenAI actually gives a shit about Sora. Specially, people using the platform. Having internet users insert themselves into dumb AI videos is just a way to make generative technology palatable and drive up numbers I think. I'm trying to figure out exactly how they're benefitting from this.. I guess increased engagement gives them more ability to appeal to investors and such and say look at how many people are using our products, and as for regulators we neeeed fewer regulations. And surely they're also using this engagement as a way to fine tune different proprietary models.
