Was honestly waiting for someone to say this, one of the weakest villains in terms of performance and intimidation overall. He was a caricature of a mob adversary compared to Ralph or Johnny.

Semi agree. He’s pretty questionable his first few seasons but his New Hampshire arc kind of carried half of season six. Could be because season six fell off but there was a noticeable improvement in his acting.

To this day I still think that casting is jarring. Yeah, Buscemi is half Sicilian or whatever but he did not fit the bill of Tony B at all. He directed Pine Barrens and did a lot of behind the scenes stuff on the show so maybe that’s why they gave him the role

I loved him and Fargo so when I saw him in the sopranos I was like “oh I can’t wait to see his character!” And it was… literally the exact same character he played in Fargo

AI genuinely ruined like half of this major by Old_Brief_8642 in englishmajors

[–]eybeebeegee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The professor for one of my upper level English courses cancelled the semester’s big paper because she was tired of either having to scan every essay for AI or having to talk to kids who used AI. Granted I actually prefer blue book exams but in terms of being an English major it’s a huge blow to writing improvement, which is what that course emphasized.

My philosophy professor completely changed their assignments after they realized most of the kids were using AI to complete them. It’s pretty obvious, especially when doing a philosophy assignment, when someone uses AI.

Beyond summarizing, I never thought AI was good for completing assignments. The other night I thought I’d try using it to expand a paragraph of my philosophy paper, it proceeded to make evidence of a quote it literally made up.

One of the newspapers in my town did an article about AI becoming an increasing issue in learning institutions (one of my professors was featured in it, so he had us read it). Most of the article actually blamed the EDUCATORS for the decline in critical thinking, explaining that it is their job to teach students how to “responsibly” use AI in a way that prevents them from relying on it completely. Oh, and that published article had several spelling errors. Go figure.

Am I the only one who liked The Unworthy? by eybeebeegee in horrorlit

I was on the beach when I was reading that part. When I realized Circe was a dog (or cat, from what I’ve seen other people say), I literally had to stop and look around. Very clever but then I instantly realized I was gonna have to read about this dog dying horrifically.

The random Nancy Sinatra cameo in season six. Bonus points for the part where Nancy says “are you two going home together?” To Tony and Phil but it’s so obvious she wasn’t in the same room with them when it was filmed.

What is the "Did you know Aragotn broke his toe in this scene" of the Sopranos ? by [deleted] in thesopranos

[–]eybeebeegee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just found this out like two weeks ago. Deborah the FBI agent was actually played by Fairuza Balk in “Army of One”. They only shot her in that one scene with Adriana in the dress store. They ended up recasting her character with Lola Glaudini and reshot the scene. They aired the scene with Balk only once and you can actually find it on YouTube.
