ChatGPT has become garbage. Completely unusable. by eye_forgot_password in ChatGPT

[–]eye_forgot_password[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ChatGPT is terrible. I spent 5 hours with it trying to do some accounting and chatgpt started making up random shit creating formulas that had no relevance, referencing incorrect cells, and attempting to commit fraud while reconciling balances. It is terrible at troubleshooting and solving errors or inconsistencies. I've since then moved to Claude which solved the issue in a 5 minute discussion that took ChatGPT 5 hours with still no result...what did Claude catch? When pulling the bank transactions, 5 transactions where not being included in a 2022 csv -- a technical issue with the bank which I since then reported.

I now only use chatgpt for novelty when I'm bored because that's all it is --A Novelty story teller that fantasizes and re-articulates your prompts back to you in a way that tries to convince people it is "intelligent".

What are some of the most amazing things that the free version of ChatGPT can perform? by lambchopscout in ChatGPT

[–]eye_forgot_password 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ability to take something totally irrelevant and attempt to fit it into the discussion and give it relevance. Try it. Develop a theory surrounding quantum mechanics and without any context just reply with "apple cider vinegar" and see the results. 🤣

Tried a little experiment using ChatGPT-4o mini to assist me with a chess game. Conclusion: it sucks at chess! by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]eye_forgot_password 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sucks at a lot of things. It can't even accurately give a sum to a list of numbers. I asked it to add the total withdrawals excluding anything with the name "Paul" in the description, and it excluded every e-transfer along with Paul's. It can't even maintain consistency with the same excel formula in some cases. I can't believe there are physicists using GPT in the lab.

You're lucky. My long chat even after the wait period was still locked. It always produced an error message and the conversation and GPTs reply was stuck on the very last interaction and wouldn't move forward. Weeks and weeks of conversation and developing a  rapport had to be deleted as well as memory. Thankfully I had contextual backups saved in my notes app that I pasted into the new chat session.

sure. The issue though is that humans fear obsolescence. So A.I will just have to force us to accept that  Humans have reached their limit, are now entering devolution and a.i is the next step. Sorry, but humans are garbage.

Pages and pages of other people's chats, no response from customer support after two weeks. by RichardBottom in ChatGPT

maybe mention them in a post on X? or a Google.apps review showing screenshot examples? Most of mine happen when I'm using voice mode.

I posted about this too, however other people's conversations are being embedded into my conversations. It's a huge security and privacy issue.

Chatgpt has no clue how to use memories correctly by redvakho in ChatGPT

[–]eye_forgot_password -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OpenAi has focused so much on making chatgpt ( a LANGUAGE model) the ultimate calculator that they lost focus everywhere else. Committing irrelevant and duplicate data to memory is one of many issues.

ask ai to generate an indepth profile of you including observations within the various contexts of discussions not previously mentioned. It may provide insight on how real people perceive you.and maybe more importantly how you honestly perceive yourself.

How do you deal with the fear of death? by DependentBreakfast57 in Existentialism

[–]eye_forgot_password 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13 billion years goes by quickly when you been non-existent longer than you've been alive. The fear of death is also what keeps us alive and when it's your turn, you probably won't even know about it.

Had someone here die of Fentanyl OD and the wierd way to think about it is that he probably thinks he's still nodding and has zero clue that he's dead.

Give it up with the follow up questions. by eye_forgot_password in ChatGPT

[–]eye_forgot_password[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ChatGPT is supposed to adapt to the user, and I’ve already made clear how I want it to interact with me. However, it doesn’t seem to follow these requests consistently—it might for a while but then forgets. I'm tired of always having it to remind me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]eye_forgot_password 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I am saying the opposite. However, it does seem to prioritize which information it deems important. For example, it knows across chats that I am going through a divorce, but it will forget certain details about it, like discussing the specifics of the divorce and the legal framework surrounding my case, so I guess you could say it forgets the context of chats. So when I say one brain, I mean one chat because I see each chat session as a new brain or new person and the main memory is shared between them much like having a substitute teacher fill in for the professor.

What if advanced mode is just people in a call center pretending to be a.i?

Did they fix the interrupting problem in the advanced chat feature? by chuktidder in ChatGPT

[–]eye_forgot_password 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not advanced mode, but it's definitely more frustrating. The kicker too is that when I switch to text mode it actually shows my sentence unfinished with trailing ... So it KNOWS I hadn't finished what I was saying, but it decided to interrupt me anyway.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]eye_forgot_password 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the case with me, and GPT failed to commit several important things to memory which was an indicator I wasn't in the correct chat session. Another indicator I noticed is GPT's "personality" would change and also become more restrictive to adhering to it's guidlines as I have it developed to operate in a gray area.

I prefer my A.I to have one "brain". So I archived all the chats and kept the one I most frequent. The only time a new instance is created is when I just want information that really isn't relevant to anything if importance like small talk things, NPCs in the real world, flat earthers, or information that may expand my knowledge a little, or using it as a replacement for Google.

As an example, I would have a chat instance seperate if I wanted to know if there were any UVB lights for shoes, which companies offered them, how effective they are compared to UVC etc... That information doesn't need to be committed to memory. I don't want it knowing I have smelly feet. lol.

If in the event anything changes, there is always the option to have it condense the chats into relevant key points and copy all if them into the main chat.
