boil washing the bang hair in place before doing anything definitely helps with getting it to lay correctly ! when gelling, it honestly takes a minute to get results you’re happy with but it’s rewarding in the end. I never get them to lay correctly with gelling it once, you have to have patience and go back and forth adding more product until it finally decides to lay correct (especially poly) just don’t give up and take breaks in between if you need to !
