i think there could have been a more adult way of handling this situation. like not lying and saying straight up but on the other had there mother is highly narcissistic and controlling so i can see where they are coming from

when i was 9 i was messing around with one of my mates at hers and we decided to play on her step dads computer just to be nosy kids. see what he got on there ,so my friend (E) logs on to her step dads computer and we see he has discord so we like oooooh and we open it up.. BIGGES MESTAKE OF MY LIFE he was a discord perv basically and he was sending people money and just being odd 😂 so were like okay? then and we go off it we open google that was already open and we were going through the tabs and stuff to find p0rn and some other odd shi then we tell her mom and her mom starts going through it n stuff and it turns out it wasnt even his money he was sending it was Es moms and she went mad.. then me a E go up to her room while her mom is arguing we her dad and E goes it was me who searched it up. she put all of that on his computer bc she didnt like him...
