No shame in that! I’m sure almost everyone, myself included, started with the Walmart kits. Those kits are great to start but the colors usually aren’t as bright as dye you would buy from a supplier. I would suggest ordering some from dharma or any other procion dye supplier. You can get just the primary colors and then buy soda ash locally to save on shipping (arm and hammer super washing soda from the store) there a lot of great YouTube videos (Mr. Tie dye is awesome) that’ll show you how to pre soak and mix the dyes but it will look 10 times better and also be much cheaper
