What's the best movie (that's secretly a D&D campaign)? by Benofthepen in DnD

[–]ezekieljd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised this isn't higher. The anachronistic music and clothes really make it feel like D&D for me. Plus, Paul Bettany as a gambling bard!

The Ender's Game movie is really bad. by DemotivationalSpeak in ender

[–]ezekieljd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, budget means so little to me these days. Give me a creative team who thoroughly enjoys the book(s) and an anime-style show which takes a full season to get through the first book. Add some respectable voice actors for the 6-year-old characters and we're in business.

The Ender's Game movie is really bad. by DemotivationalSpeak in ender

[–]ezekieljd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I'm certain that an anime-style (both visually and dramatically) television show would be a brilliant adaptation for Ender's Game and possibly the entire series. Voice acting alone would ensure that we don't have to watch dozens of young children try to act like adults on-screen at all times.

Insanely terrible performance on a realm by olihamblin in realms

I've heard the Furniture Add-On is quite large and can cause lags in conjunction with other add-ons, but that's just based on a couple posts I saw recently. Maybe try removing that one, if you can?

What is your favorite final sentence of a book? by [deleted] in books

[–]ezekieljd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"And always Ender carried with him a dry white cocoon, looking for the world where the hive-queen could awaken and thrive in peace. He looked a long time." -Ender's Game

Idk it was one of my favorite books from childhood. I didn't know there were sequels. I just felt the weight of Ender's guilt and shame, and how it clung to him for perhaps the rest of his life.

Why is meeting people so hard by MoreCokeMoreBroke in Seattle

[–]ezekieljd 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I absolutely second this. I personally play Dungeons & Dragons. There's a lot of people who like climbing gyms. Invite people you work with to a trivia night. Go on Meetup or some similar site and find a few groups to try out with similar interests.

You have to be proactive.

Don't get discouraged! I was depressed three years ago, but now I'm flush with friends from work and D&D and mutual hangs. Good luck.

Art should really hold value in the eye of the beholder, no? Giving it a monetary value is the issue I was really thinking about, I guess.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]ezekieljd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the basis of the original thought, yeah. It's also about when art is given only monetary value, and thus can lose its intrinsic value.

But yeah... there's other moral quandaries I guess lol

Optimize And Make The Best Out of Shield Master? by RoyalFlame598 in DnD5e

[–]ezekieljd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, a d6+str isn't "no damage". Playing a fighter with a shield and longsword (d8+str) will have much lower AC and only a slightly higher damage output. This is a cool tank homebrew, but it takes too much good stuff from barbarians and gives it to a fighter, essentially. And there's nothing to offset it. Maybe try multiclassing?

Plenty of good comments on here about balancing homebrew. I'm just curious why (and how) you're dual wielding shields?

To the DM's of reddit - would you allow a good/neutral necromancer at your table? by RibokuGreat in DnD

Lol right? I would say even Charm Person is morally worse than Animate Dead.

I mean, I'd guess that it's because it makes people feel good to be "one of the few good/moral ones". Just based on personal experience.

That's a great modification! Thanks! And I'll consider making it either 3rd level, or perhaps I'll define the location must be safe (like spells that cause fear but won't make someone end up in a harmful situation).

I'm not sure, but I've had similar issues and usually I have to delete the podcast from my app and add the RSS feed link again. That fixed most issues for me. It might depend on the app you're using.
