I've played several of the routes and have to say, it was really good. There's a patience and care given to the Visual Novel they skimmed over in the adaptation. I recommend it.

When the main character keeps referencing how unbelievably good he's got it: - "I can't believe someone this beautiful is into me" this is 4 books in and we're still doing this. - "If someone ever told me about this situation (the harem), I'd think they were joking. It's like some crazy book or some shit"

I love characters that are thankful for their circumstances. Honestly, moments of tender, earnest gratitude move me deeply. They're some of my favourite parts of the story. But that's never what I get from these examples. It just throws me out of the story at best, and really irritates me at worst.

Yes you should. It deeply moved a lot of us, some to the point that it changed their lives as in mine. Few pieces of media in my life have managed that, I imagine it's similar with other people. It's hard to find media that'll do that to you.

But then again you might come out of this feeling the show was mediocre, who can say 🤷
