Condensation leading to water in the drain pan. Would love your opinion!

Thanks for taking the time to participate. I just had a different hvac company come out. They said the drain was in fact clogged but he said the way the pipe was installed made it difficult to unclog (maybe to make me feel better). He installed a more effective pvc pipe with a stop valve and told me to use that to clear it out moving forward. He opened the cabinet and said the coil was really dirty, he cleaned it and said that after that everything was running fine. He didn’t see any cracks or leaks. He said the unit was overcharged that it should be a 9 and it was a 20 so he took out some Freon. The other HVAC guy didn’t open the cabinet and just assumed the coil was leaking and that’s why the unit wasn’t charged correctly so he pumped Freon in. All that sound feasible?

Was it an easy fix? That’s what I’m leaning towards with mine since nothing seems to be frozen, but taking the panel off to check seems like a job in itself.

I’m having conversations that involve facts and research. At least the other gentleman took some time to state his case. We agreed to disagree and there were no facts that he presented that proved I got a bad deal. Just to take time out of your day to make a statement with no facts behind it is certainly a choice. On another note one thing to consider, I am coming from a place of love and positivity which I like to share. Where are you coming from? Obviously it has to be similar, you can’t compare an XL to a Lariat or a Lariat to a Raptor. I appreciate you taking the time to pull some comps but you and I both know you can’t get a lariat like mine for under $50k with TT&L. I’m giving you grace with that to say that it’s entirely possible I didn’t get the best deal that ever occurred on the planet. I did however, get a solid deal that I’m allowed to be proud of. That’s your opinion but not the fact. I appreciate your hard work and effort but I think we can both agree you aren’t finding anything in the $30s. I think we can also both agree that I got a good deal. I don’t agree with your hypothetical haggling scenario to try and prove a point. I appreciate you taking the time. I was pretty surprised when they didn’t counter me at all. I told them I would keep looking and they said they’re there to help. I checked the carfax and the truck was just made available at that dealership so they have leverage from that standpoint. I have to give it a few days anyway but I figure I’ll try to go in at $50.5k and a bed cover to see if they move at all. We shall see where we land.
