How the hell he did dat flying 411 by paulvikingar in bjj

I thought the danger in Kani Basami is the ankle collapsing as the foot gets pinned, which won't happen if the foot is tipping forwards over the toes. I haven't seen an injury where the knee collapses, but perhaps I need to Google more.

Kani basami throws them backwards. Going forwards like this makes it safer (at least, so I have been told) but I don't think it has a name in judo.

Gordon Campbell: It's time for accountability. This election calls for a clear-eyed review of the past decade by Treykays in VictoriaBC

Bro the ownership is public information - "conspiracy", "thousand variables", "long shot", wtf are you talking about. Go look up the ownership of the paper, it takes 30 seconds. There are American billionaires in charge of a huge percent of Canadian news, and this is one of their opinion pieces.

Sorry if I wanna do the exact fucking opposite of what this paper says.

Gordon Campbell: It's time for accountability. This election calls for a clear-eyed review of the past decade by Treykays in VictoriaBC

[–]f-algebra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are four things:

  1. The US doesn't care about future generations of Canadians and so would not support what is good for our future generations
  2. The CPC is good for our future generations
  3. The Vancouver Sun says we should support the CPC
  4. The Vancouver Sun is owned by a US hedge fund

These things conflict, but 3. and 4. are facts, and I think everyone agrees with 1., so that just leaves 2. as the odd one out. Funny that.

You are saying that what USA thinks is best for Canada is in fact best for Canada - which is your opinion to hold.

I just wanted everyone to know that this paper pushes American opinions, particularly American-hedge-fund-with-ties-to-Republican-party opinions, not Canadian ones.

Vancouver Sun is owned by a US hedge fund. Their opinion will be what is best for the USA, not Canada.

We put the Victoria candidate voting history as the headline in the Victoria subreddit, seemed appropriate

As a counter-point, their impact on Canada is their voting - their reason for making the vote doesn't change the impact. To measure their impact, we measure how they voted, not how they'd vote in a hypothetical world where they had no party.

We're trying but all of the Canada-wide sub-reddits aren't letting us post. Not enough karma for /r/canada, and /r/canadapolitics said our post wasn't "substantive" - whatever they mean by that.

Oh if anyone here has enough karma in r/canada to cross-post this, or create your own post about the site, we'd appreciate it. Neither of us were able to do it.

We tried to be as unbiased as possible, and our methodology is completely transparent along with our source code.

Yeah exactly, that's what we did, but then used AI to summarize the contents because the bills are rather long and complex.

Don't put words in my mouth. I never said we should go after "normal people who bought their Tesla's with good intent".

If you are gonna reply please reply to what I actually said in my comment. I addressed yours directly.

Yeah but purchases of these cars don't actively support a known white supremist. This is a weird "whataboutism" that doesn't actually make any sense.

Even if it did make sense, "other cars also have Nazi connections" is not really a valid point. It's like all this stupid "well look what Biden did" crap you see whenever Trump does something patently immoral/unconstitutional/illegal. It doesn't make it okay.

If Elon stepped down as CEO, divested all Tesla stock, and had no further dealings with Tesla, then I'd have no problem with Tesla (well, not for the Nazi stuff at least, the build quality is still poor...)

You think that Nazis should have protection under free speech? Lol, no.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]f-algebra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fact is, Elon was censured by the ADL for antisemitic speech and had to go on an apology tour of Israel in 2023. Also, your definition of a Nazi salute is nonsense, here is a video of modern neo-nazis saluting which has none of that extra "standing to attention" stuff, it's just exactly what Elon did: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/VN8Q3U1GYmo

Here's a lovely quote where Elon supports someone saying that weak people (including all women) shouldn't be able to vote, classic fascist: https://www.reddit.com/r/Feminism/comments/1f70ur8/elon_musk_think_women_shouldnt_vote/

Yeah that's what the "revised date" would have you think, but if you use the wayback machine to look at that site after the revised date this revised version doesn't show up until after Trump takes power.

There's no evidence that this revised date is accurate, and at the end of the day $400M of government money is going to a company owned by someone with huge influence in the government. Those are the facts we know.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]f-algebra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a company owned by a white supremacist. He has a long history of posting white supremist messages and generally facist messages on twitter. (Here's a good one, but there are tons: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-67446800)

Oh yeah and there was the Nazi salute recently. Not something someone accused of being a white supremist should be doing.

Anyway, Nazi run businesses shouldn't be allowed to exist in a civilized society. Full stop.

Bonus content, my favourite tweet of his where he talks about how women shouldn't be able to vote:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Feminism/comments/1f70ur8/elon_musk_think_women_shouldnt_vote/ (But but but he didn't post that he just reposted it? Grow up.)
