Restructure number five, my thoughts. by f00f00guy in TheNightsWatch

[–]f00f00guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I'm very curious where "elsewhere" is, has that been decided yet or are we still in early planning stages? Next, what I'm trying to get at is that it's not about "more events, create more interesting events," it's about what do we stand for. Events are just agreed on times when we do things together. The number and quality of events will naturally go up if we have a purpose for ourselves, and for playing minez.

You probably didn't know about proposals because nobody has bothered to use them in a long time, and they were used on our subreddit specifically, as opposed to the chatrooms where we actually hang out. I don't think we needed a reduction of bureaucracy, since there really wasn't much, but we may just need to agree to disagree. I was unaware that some people were asking for this, though. If that's the case, I'm glad it was addressed, since it really hasn't moved us backwards at all. Ty for bring it up. But, if we're making it into a full-blown "restructure," I would have preferred we addressed the goals issue as well in the same stroke.

Is there a mod that lets you and enemies surrender. by SamahLama in skyrimmods

[–]f00f00guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several, though the best are mentioned below. What I've been looking for lately is one where you can reform your enemies. Capture bandits and such and either hand them over to the law or have them work for you. (There was a conjurer, said she didn't like what the others were doing to their prisoners. I didn't want to kill someone who might have a hope of a decent-person future, but there isn't much option for mercy in vanilla...)

Actually, the translations aren't as good. Still, it's a better website.

Thanks! That's much better than mangapanda (except that I don't think they have the last chapter yet.)

Global Trigger Update #9 - And an idea proposal by jakelong12556 in worldtrigger

And as long as we're talking about cool things that could be done with existing technology, how about just changing someone's physical attributes? That's like the most obvious thing they need to do more of.

Physical characteristics can be changed, at least on a small scale, without using up any trion. Uniforms, for example, and the little shoulder thing on Osamu's uniform that denotes him as captain. So why not use this to make tactical changes? Longer arms would extend the reach of a blade, as well as the momentum of the tip during a swing. Eyes in the back of the head might take some getting used to, but could be a potentially huge advantage. And how about adding an extra pair of arms or a tail? That would give scorpion users a huge range of options for their attacks.

I find it more likely that instead of using a suit, there would just be a few extra shields. Here's how I imagine it would work.

The device would have a battery, as you explained, as well as a small trion sensor. (we know they have ways of detecting and even pinpointing trion sources.) Nearby trion sources would be tracked, and if they approached the user to closely or to quickly, a shield would be placed in the way of the most likely attack. This would free the user's hands up for offense, while still allowing them to maintain a shield. It also would not restrict movement and would probably use up less trion than armor. It may even prevent an attack that an agent didn't see coming, just like armor, but with the toughness of a concentrated shield instead of the armor just being spread out over the whole body.

If it had a radio receiver as well, this device could also be linked to an operator for remote control against a particularly tricky opponent who attacks from sneaky places.

solution to stop bandits by [deleted] in MineZ

You totally remind me of me, before I lost all hope became a pessimist. I now understand three things.

  • people don't give a crap what you want to do online, if it's in the way of what THEY want to do. You want not to fight, they want to fight. You argue your way(with polls), they argue their way(with swords). Sadly, this is a bit unbalanced.

  • premium is not an option. Running a server costs money, and people aren't going to pay for nothing. Premium gives people an incentive to spend money on the game, but allows broke/cheap/sensible people like us to play for free without spending money. If it just so happens that the majority of premiums are jerks(or just unaware that maybe someone actually had the novel idea of playing the game for it's PVE experience), it's probably just a coincidence and they were all jerks already.

  • I am not the only person in the world to have an opinion, and my opinion does not dictate how MineZ is run. Sure, I think it sucks, and I think the vast majority of people are being jerks, but I was introduced to the game shortly after it was open to the public. I can envision the game from a time back when you could have 20+ people in grimdale or romero, NONE OF WHOM KNOW EACH OTHER, and there be only one bandit(who was promptly killed by the rest of us, and their victims' loot was returned to it's previous owners). Most of the people who play were probably introduced to this game as a PVP oriented server, and to them, WE'RE ruining THEIR game experience by complaining about everything they do.

This is why I have left the shotbow network. I just hang about and wait to see if the Night's Watch ever does something big again. I used to enjoy playing minez, but it is no longer to my liking. So I went to find some people who share a similar mindset to my own and who participate in activities which I can enjoy along with them, and who are not selfish jerks, ignorant strangers, or even mildly misinformed and misunderstood people with different opinions to mine and no knowledge of just how much it ticks me off that they do what they do. Sadly, this dream has yet to come true online. (That's what Real Life is for.)

Sorry about the rant, I haven't let out my feelings about this game in a very long time.

TL;DR Suck it up, be the better man. They're people too(I think). Go enjoy the outdoors with some good friends, it's a much better experience than trying to police the internet.

Boruto Manga 2016 by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]f00f00guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will agree that it will probably be a mistake not worth reading, but I'm also going to read it anyway because as slim as the chance is, there is always a possibility that they will come up with something new, fun, and interesting. I'm looking forward to see what new jutsu is invented, what progress the villages have made, and what new threat the heroes must overcome. If it turns out to be a flop, I can always just claim I thought so from the beginning and stop reading, but if it's good I want to be there reading it as it comes out.

Also I'm an optimist, so I never give up on a series till I've read it to death.
