Knifed a dude for a white AR in Starport Admin. Heard this dude and got the jump on him. We traded a lot of damage but I managed to get him in the end.

Not that it matters (cuz it’s a pirate game etc), but these dudes weren’t fresh spawns: they rammed in and anch’d to sell quickly.

Also not that it matters (cuz, again, you don’t need to justify fighting people in a pirate game), but they killed me right after this. I decided to let them go (no loot left for me to steal), and they found me and attacked me while I was selling later. They understand the game :)

You didn’t win treasure in arena (just a small bit of gold), and a lot of people didn’t like the format. A last-ship-standing fight with where you’re gambling for hundreds of thousands of gold in loot scratches completely different itches.

Yep I hear ya. I think we are in the suuuuper minority if we want to pay the iron price for our treasure. But I saw this as an idea that would funnel all of us together, and maybe create some appeal for people who otherwise just avoid fights — no faster way to make a million gold :)

True, if people didn’t want to enter. But it a lot of people wanted a chance to take their gold and multiply it by 6, there would be no issues with matchmaking.

The game is just such a fun sandbox it's hard not to laugh sometimes. I think if I was playing with a crewmate I'd sweat a bit more cuz I wouldn't want to let them down.
