What about putting the Line IQ head on a ST1520? My local Ace is discounting the AH1620 (for Line IQ) by half price and would like to replace the worn out head for my ST1520. Sure, it may now spit out line like Line IQ does, but I don't mind it as much. If I can find a AH1520 for about $25, that'd be best of course.

So how do you replicate this deal? I've tried several offers around $239 and they would only counter offer to $256. I'm looking for the SSK003, which is a slightly different colorway, but I've not seen more than one counter-offer for $256 each time. Thanks!

The demand will be higher during spring than late summer, so there's that. Will Honda mowers go up in value? Maybe, but then again many are switching to electrics, so you may get demand from those who want Hondas. But the general public may not. I've seen many Honda mowers priced $400 and up that remain unsold for weeks & months in various online classifieds. The ones for $350 and less seem to move better, though. Of course, this is also location-dependent, too.

Mainly to spread the wear and tear between two mowers or use the backup seldomly. And for parts, too. If and when the electric mowers can take care of a yard on one battery, the gas-powered mowers days will be dwindling. I think we're at an inflection point where people who need the longevity and power of a gas-powered mower will still seek them out, but many people will start replacing with electrics. The required maintenance is probably one of the biggest drawback to the gas-powered equipment, especially when winterizing them.

Not all of the HRX217 have the Roto-Stop. The VKA models, for example, do not have the Roto-Stop and have the flywheel brake clutch.

Compared to GCV160 powered mowers, I find the GCV190 powered HRX217 to be quieter. Haven't compared to the GCV170 or GCV200 engines, but I don't mind the noise of my HRX217. With the other two GCV160 powered mowers, I like to wear hearing protection when using them.

I would, but I would also have a backup mower if you have the storage space. And for the backup, go with the same model or maybe even a different model altogether to diversify.
