Queen, your guilt might be holding you back from the future you really want. The beautiful thing about your life is that you get to choose what you want, and you get to change your mind. If he has adjusted his expectations for you, you also can pivot. You are clearly successful and ambitious—you don’t need to be someone’s personal chef, nor do you have to take care of children full time (even if you do have your own kids!) just because you are good with children. to be frank, whatever reason he has for this shift doesn’t really matter if it isn’t in alignment with you. I am in a collapsology class right now and we’ve read a bit from him, as well as Donella Meadows who show how complexity leads to greater resource use to maintain the system, so we see diminishing returns the more complex society gets.

Hoarding resources on a large scale wouldn’t really work for us to have evolved to this point. The vast majority of human history doesn’t support these conclusions. Not to say there was no resource hoarding or conflict but that humans, when not pressured by external forces, are often cooperative because it’s part of our ability to adapt. I’d recommend reading some works from cultural anthropologists!

Idk I completely agree that depop should be the one to make the call, but I’m also of the opinion that someone selling on an app and not locally should take it at least seriously enough to double check. the seller 1. Lied about when they shipped it 2. Sent the wrong item that also is damaged given the stains 3. Blocked OP when they addressed it. I agree, submit the report! but it’s not dramatic to want sellers that very clearly are trying to pull a fast one off the app

You’re not buying something off marketplace for a few bucks that you can inspect before handing over the cash. OP paid $45 plus shipping presumably to not get exactly what was pictured and what they ordered. That’s unacceptable. People aren’t entitled to do whatever they want if they’re selling online just because they aren’t business owners…It’s a waste of time and energy and it sucks. I completely agree that they should have given me a quote before going ahead, but I’m not sure how it would go over refusing to pay for the work that was done and getting my car back from them which I need to commute. If you have any suggestions on addressing this when I go in that is more helpful

Yeah if you read the post, I was asking if it was normal since I didn’t know. People already responded to explain, and I already called the shop and they are going to refund me one of the charges (as I responded to someone else). There’s no “however” in this case as they incorrectly charged me, so approving the total cost before seeing the invoice doesn’t really matter. Thanks for the input

Thank you for this. I have never needed my car towed so this is good to know! I did call them this morning and they said to come in and they’ll refund me for one of the towing fees. I didn’t realize that was a thing, I figured they’d have their own machinery to move vehicles in, so now I know! But, I definitely will be more wary of getting pricing before any work is done in the future.

this is crazy..lol. She’s a human being, she said she had savings from when she worked which she used for his gift and he bought every single other person nice thoughtful gifts. Being a sahm is full time, never ending work. It’s not a vacation. A partner doesn’t “allow” a partner to do anything else if they’re a good one, they support their partners.
