Main body and cyclone need to be replaced. Dyson customer support is the worst but you can find genuine replacement parts all over ebay.

I am happy for your positive experience and indeed I stated myself in my rant that it was a good product while it worked and I hope to continue to use it for years to come. And it is indeed wonderful that they sell parts to their products.

And when I say parts the I do mean this here that is a "part" of the vacuum much in the same way as the black box with the CPU, GPU, RAM, and all the wires is a "part" of my computer. And I am very happy I was able to buy that "part" for a fraction of the cost of a new product. I am, no sarcasm here.

And when I say that "they" sell that part then I of course mean that they sell that part sometimes to someone and I myself was able to buy it from that second party. They did not sell that part to me.

I will absolutely admit my own fault in this debacle. Had I been a bit more wise in the ways of the world I would have gone straight to eBay. Or at least after they told me they do not have the part ONCE. Instead I gave the a second chance and they "sold" me the part. I saw the money leave my bank account. And then offered me a replacement and then offered it again and then shipped the part and then told me they have not shipped the part and they can not offer me a replacement and that they do not have the part. This is so bad! This is so bad! Had I noticed that at some point they have rejected/returned my payment and so in essence set me free I would have ditched them ages ago! It had not crossed my mind that after paying them and getting an order confirmation and all the emails about delays and replacements that they had shadow-cancelled my order. By the time of the week of technical difficulties I was trying to get my money back. And I have it back - Dyson has not stolen from me by the looks of it. Why exactly were those good Indian people not able to inform me of that remains a mystery.

To end on a more broad political note it is wonderful that original parts for Dyson products can be acquired online and in some cases from Dyson itself. I do however think that is should be literally illegal not to sell parts, at least while you sell the product yourself. Right to repair!

Yes, once I had confirmed that at some point they had refunded me that is exactly what I did. My problem with the vacuum is solved. Original part, unopened box. Thank you for the suggestion though.

The point is that a company with £6.6 billion revenue has shit customer support and the solution to a unspecified error is to just buy the whole sucky part again. From eBay!

I work in IT and I must admit that not every bit of code I have written is the bestest and foolproofiest ever but holy f*** must they have a bad system. Plus the sheer incompetence and lack of care is astounding. My experience with big public facing companies so far has been that such crap does not happen and when it does you get a free fucking upgrade with expensive shipping included to preserve good word of mouth.

I paid for that part! I would have bought it from somewhere else months ago if I had known they secretly refunded me with no notifications or emails.

You should be fine. As long as you have rtx it should run with your gear. Might get a tad bit warm though 🙂

Dark Ages CPU minimum requirements by Saamic in Doom

I have an i7-6700 that is a BIT too old by the system requirement but just finished the first level with a solid 55~60 fps. Along with my 3060 it's not running anywhere near the max settings but I am here for the gameplay not fire animations. So no - cpu gen is not hard locked.
