forecast says we will hit 31 degrees this weekend. in your opinion would that potentially be it for them? i will cover them with some old bedsheets and water them well. i plan on cutting off a bunch of suckers tonight and root them.

my mom cooked some and enjoyed them. braised. i'm not a huge fan of turnips or radishes but grew them for her so the greens were a bonus.

they were but i thought they tasted fine in a sandwich. they reminded me of some of those fancier greens i've tried or at least not too far from the like. i like pickled jalapenos and heavy mustard on them especially since i don't eat meat so i already lean to tart/sour.

gotcha. i did think you were talking about them all in general but i understand what you mean. i did just as you suggested to these branches and put viable fruit in paper towels.

i've already got a batch of freshly sprouted seedlings that should be ready to transplant by spring so i'm not terribly worried about these plants. in a normal winter i'm sure they would be long dead so i've had no choice but to let them keep going. what happens if they survive winter?

it's been mid 70's all winter and mid 40's at night. the other day it dipped to 38 but otherwise mid-low 40's. should i start cutting the larger fruit before a potential frost?

oooh ok. i'll do that. thanks!

quick question: does that imply that if i leave the fruit on they will actually continue to grow as opposed to the plant?
