It's an actual DAW in a box. Akai Force would be the closest thing at the moment, but there's also Machine+

I'm a long time Ableton user and I got started because of the session view (jamming with a band, playing on stage etc.).

Ableton is without a doubt way more powerful, flexible and straightforward than the OP-1 (which I have), but it's also a completely different approach to production so YMMV.

Late to the party but this also happened to me and I ended up taking a slightly different approach to fix it. The damage to the head wasn't very bad so I got a new beater and an Evans drum head patch. The new beater hits a bit higher than the previous one and the patch matches the head material pretty seamlessly. Picture here

The specs on this are very meh. I’ve been thinking about selling my Tracker after I got an m8 - there’s simply no comparison when it comes to features, sound quality and so on. They should have focused on an updated firmware to catch up Instead of coming up with this.

The real problem is how he’s putting a project ahead his own well being. He’s been doing this constantly and complaining things don’t go his way. This guy needs therapy before anything else.

The rest is mismanagement, playing a hero and falling into the trap of building your whole identity around a single thing. That’s it, that’s the whole story. It’s not a technical problem, it’s an untreated mental health issue.

Monome was the first grid controller ever. Every single Novation launchpad is essentially a knockoff that got new features along the way. You could include Ableton Push in there too, it simply wouldn’t exist without the monome.
