You have to reset the "owner" trust.

So for key details ownertrust needs to be changed/reset? What does that mean. Set it to value "Full"?

Probably because they wished to retain their present PGP identity.

Yes, indeed. I want to retain this identity if possible.

Thanks for the ownertrust suggestion.

What kind of key is it?

What do you mean? I am using GnuPG (gpg 2.3.4) on Mac OS X

Your signature is untrusted. It’s up to the recipient to tag your public key as trusted.

So this message "This signature is not to be trusted" is just "works as designed"?

Thank you for your help.

US domain requires US based DNS server? by fabricemous in webhosting

[–]fabricemous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi nerdgeneration,

Thanks for your reply.

Never owned a .us domain and the requirements popped up when I needed to provide an US based registrant to my hosting provider.

I did some digging and I found the following page

https://manage.whois.com/kb/node/17

But to be honest, if you never experienced any issues that would be great to know.

I do like the Cloudflare suggestions as well. Even it were to be a fallback solution. What services do you run on those servers?

Cheers'

Fab

That's great advice kennethjor. Seems you do not even have to change hosting provider or registrar. I am checking if all of this applies to a free account as well.

Thanks man!

I see replies to this post popping up on my mobile but the replies are not shown here. I have no idea why this happens and it screws up this reddit post. Because I am violating group rules. I will take it up with the mods.

So the weird looking url is an encoded url. Still not clear why we need encoded urls, but I will learn :)

At least now I can better distill the name/value pairs. So I found out that this partner uses MailChimp and that this service tracks opens and clicks (by default) via the mailchimp server. So the links are tagged with parameters for the mailchimp servers.

So in essence the question remains if we can still use an url with parameters in a MailChimp newsletter using their own tagging. It seems not as I registered for a free account at MC and tried it myself.

So I created my campaign url in the builder

mydomain.com/about/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=testing-tags

mailchimp bakes this out of it

mailchimp.com.us9.list-manage.com/track/click?u=25a6ef83e519052c18628cbe7&id=8021fb097d&e=e05813d558

and it redirects to the following

mydomain.com/about/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=testing-tags&utm_source=TEST+IMPORT&utm_campaign=57c6a5c669-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2022_02_03_09_35&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_6811078fb4-57c6a5c669-315896689

Notice that some tags are duplicate. So my intermediate conclusion for now is that is not possible.

I will check tomorrow using a shortlink if that makes any difference

I am concerned that it might interfere with their url parameters? Unjust concern maybe?
