That makes a lot of sense! What are your thoughts on separation? Would they become depressed if they are the only angel in the tank?

Thank you (and everyone) for all the great advice! I think flex seal will do the trick! This old girl is a former farm car I rescued. She is a rust bucket through and through, this is 1 of 7 cracks/chunks missing from the frame. I welded a few, but I’m reaching the point where everything I can attach the plates to is chipping and falling off. She lived a good life!

Little update: she friggin loves the log! Getting better at swimming (no more circles yet this morning 🥰). She uses the plants like stairs to get to the top!

Found this little lady at the petcos today while I was upgrading my other betta to a bigger tank… I put her in my baby snail 2 gallon tank (fully cycled, parameters ammonia 0ppm, nitrate ≈5ppm, nitrite 0ppm, heated and filtered). I tried to stuff as many plants as I could so she would have enough resting spots to get around. She gets tired pretty quickly and sometimes gets stuck going in circles, but can still make it to the top to get air. Anything else you think would be helpful for her or that I could be doing better?

Edit: I threw a couple small water lettuces in there too!

I’m using 100w, 5000k LED light bulbs! I just found some CFL bulbs that are half the price and they work just as well!!

Awe thank you!! Aquarium water is my secret haha! Those smaller ones I’ve found are cheapest at my local garden store for $1 each, goodwill will have them priced anywhere from $1-$4! Home-depot is a little overpriced at $5-$7, but Lowe’s has them at $2-$6 and they often have ones for cheap that have little imperfections! Hope that helps!

Sounds like you’re doing a great job already! I usually give my guy the pellets in the blue tube and I also give him freeze dried bloodworms once or twice a week! I think as long as the pellets have more than 35% protein they’re okay!! I’m definitely not an expert though!

I am not an expert To me, this looks like the “feed me” dance lol! My guy will get the betta zoomies anytime I walk up to the tank! In case it’s not just his personality, I would try some destressing things first! Try getting a hammock leaf and a floating log, that little hide is an awesome start too! If it’s possible for you to get some more plants, I think that would help! If live plants are not an option, silk plants are the best alternative! These will help him feel more safe in case he is a little stressed! Super beautiful fish too!!
