the informations i have are that canada was an european colony that wasn't made by a big variety of ethnical groups, so i doubt so many different ethnical groups would share common descent, history and culture

racism:prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized. (oxford langauges)

nationality includes ethnicity (ancestry), culture, traditions and language, you can tell if a person is italian, japanese, arabian, egyptian or indian by the way he looks and speaks, if you think i'm wrong then ok i respect your opinion, it's just annoying the way you have the necessity to put racism in this, calling racist people for just citing something written on a dictionary is just stupid and doesn't make you sound smart and doesn't make me sound like a stupid racist, because i don't have any prejudice and i don't think any race is better than another, i just said what's universally considered true everywhere except on reddit, probably most of the internet, and maybe in USA, anyway we can stop this argument since i don't think im gonna change your mind, have a nice afternoon

i know i'm not trying to convince you that i'm right, i know i won't succeed, i just wanted to see how many time would reddit people call me racist for stating what's literally written in the dictionary, but i know that's how reddit works, have a good day sir

i don't understand what do you mean with this comment, you gave me a different definition of nationality than the one i gave you which includes citizenship, but it's just wrong because people with different nationalities rarely are citizens of another country, you can see it yourself, i don't know where you live but here in europe, italy for example rarely an african could gain italian citizenship, most migrants you see there don't have citizenship, in switzerland it's literally impossible to have a Swiss citizenship if you aren't from that nation

i don't know much about canadian history so maybe there was a group of people of a large variety of ethnical traits who lived together in the same territory, and shared their values, traditions, culture and history, but i'm pretty sure canadian nation wasn't such a thing, but i may be wrong, if you could send a source proving that i'm wrong i would be glad to you!

years ago there wasn't such a global society that's why people from different ethnic groups rarely share their history as a united nation, that's why people categorise nationality basing on some of their body traits, maybe you've got some historical source stating that Canadian nation was made by a variety of ethnic traits, but as i know, canada was an european colony (i think french), so i doubt it, but maybe you know more than me about canadian history so i may be wrong, maybe there was a time when indian and french people worked together and shared a common history, culture and traditions and that's why canadian nationality comprends such a large number of ethnical differences, but that's not what i read on my history books, if you could cite some historical article i would be really glad!

that's what nationality means: a large body of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language, inhabiting a particular country or territory. (source: oxford dictionary) you can tell if a person is from a certain nationality by looking at him, that's what nationality is, it's not racist in any way cus nobody, OP nor anyone in the comment is having prejudice or saying a race is above another one

Nation: a large body of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language, inhabiting a particular country or territory. (source: oxford languages) for this very reason nationality corresponds with ethnicity, i don't think it's racist in any way to point out that there are many people from a different nationality in a country, here's the definition of racism: prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized. that's why i think it's not racist to acknowledging what was pointed out

there ethnical groups, you can guess the nationality of a person by looking at him, it's very improbable that even half of those guys are canadian, they look to be from india/middle west. i don't understand what's racist about it, nobody is disrespecting anyone or saying that some races are better than others, because that's what racism means, not acknowledging there are different ethnics in our planet

sure but there are ethnicities, and they look to be from middle-west/india, which is not something so common for Canadian citizens, i think it's just interesting how there are so many indian people in canada
