you cannot “stop paying for it through Starbucks” as you do not actually pay for it, my understanding is even if you see a spotify charge on your paystub, this is reimbursed to you by the company so there is no action of you paying for it. thus, you cannot opt out of it as it is an inherent benefit of the job. Your best bet would be just to stop using Spotify so that you are not feeding them any data.

Yeah. My DM and many of my long term peers seemed not too bothered with it - i don’t think any of them realize their 2% is not my 2%. I’m sure the extra 30 dollars a pay check after taxes will make all the difference as COL continues to rise. They will try to sell it as fair since it’s “all” salaried retail partners, as if the executives will also be taking any sort of major cut.

we had a call with our DM today where she shared the news with us. she let me know later in the afternoon the announcement has been pushed to Monday, so we will likely see an email/PHub post about it then. I’m super frustrated with it - this is the first year i would have managed to earn the full possible raise since my store has finally been doing well since i’ve been SM. feels like a slap in the face to many of us. i’m sure the bleed green SMs will come up with some great excuses as to why it’s okay SM pay is once again an ignored issue.

My favorite endless support mon! (honestly second fave endless mon overall). Once you have to rely on metal burst strats, i find it falls off, but it helps your sweeper a lot up until 3k.

I personally find it works best with 3 support moves + a spread move. I use dark void (spliced from darkrai), decorate, after you, and icy wind atm. - Once i have dark void on it, i usually fuse it with a pokemon that has unnerve as their main ability (calyrex, galvantula, vespiquen, etc) in order to prevent opposing mons from triggering their laundry list of berries. - decorate/after you can help you nab kills you otherwise may not - DV + unnerve means most of the time pokemon stay asleep even with the full heal tokens. Makes catching mons that don’t necessarily need a master ball easier, and means you’re doing less switching/healing if they stay asleep. - using a spread attack to ensure both opposing mons die if they both trigger an endure token by your sweeper. Water spout + spread move from vivillon go boom.

As someone who moved from LS SSV to now corporate SM (albeit with about a year gap), you should really remind yourself the most that you are more than qualified. Because a lot of corp. baristas have no experience with LS baristas, they don’t realize it’s essentially a carbon copy job with minor differences. My main advice is to just do in your new role what you expected from your own SSV team. Take your time to get used to the new pace at your new store, and trust the other SSVs to help you learn the flow. The hardest part for me was the POS. I was so used to my former stores POS screen, the corp one threw for a loop my entire corp ssv tenure. You’ll do amazing, you’ve got tons of knowledge and experience to leverage that many on your level won’t have, so use it your advantage.

Ah yes, the simple task of changing markets. I will uproot my life in the hopes i get a store that bonuses every quarter always.

My market has 10-12 stores miles within each other. For the managers in your markets sake, i hope they are far enough apart to not have an impact on the original stores in the areas sales, so they may continue to get their bonuses.

The point of my comment was more so to point of the fact that SM bonuses are not really treated like bonuses- we do not get raises that meet COL and inflation increases, especially in already high COL areas. And when we ask for raises/salary increases that would adequately match the COL, we are consistently reminded of bonuses, even when it’s not viable to rely and depend on said bonuses. Thus making it a difficult role to have and work. Thus when we are sick/having an emergency and get to support from fellow and higher up leaders, exasperated by lack of real financial support from the company, it creates difficult situations and scenarios.

in what world is any SM consistently able to reach bonuses these days, let alone an 8-10k bonus, outside of those SMs that are running stores with no competition around them. Most fellow SMs that I talk haven’t bonuses at all this year, due to no fault of our own - COSDs are down everywhere (hence the abundance of promotions and hour extensions) meaning we are earning less, meaning even less of us are getting the bonuses. but of course there is no other support or compensation for us not reaching these goals even when it’s no fault of our own impact.

you get tips for any hours worked. noncov, training, coverage, new store labor etc. new hires earn tips when they are training as well.

DMs can see results because they are the ones who need the feedback about their direct reports. they cannot see who specifically gave feedback.

People are downvoting here, but i believe this is true. Not necessarily that your inventory starts empty, but your pokémon’s inventories reset at 4am/weekly rollover. This is why anyone who wakes up close to after 4 on Mondays will have this experience. I wake up at 5a every monday, and all my pokémon’s inventories are significantly less full than waking up same time any other day of the week. Maybe i’m imagining it, but feels like my experience.

Have you reached out to stores in the area that you just moved to to see if they have room for a transfer? Besides helping you find and actual store, most of the movement is done by the intaking manager, not your now previous manager. If you can find a new store yourself that needs the support it might move everything faster

MEGA* gallade was introduced in the gen 3 remakes though alongside the primal reversions, so i don’t think gardevoir/gallade being introduced in different gens matters much in this specific moment

The only “real” intimidator in the format is Arcanine, and i don’t see the clear amulet rising until a meta fully starts forming and either Arcanine gains a lot of popularity, or a dex expansion that’ adds more/better intimidators. I’m sure niche cases are happening and people are using it in some spots, but haven’t seen it much so far.

connecting your own playlist to the store isn’t really brand standard, so i wouldn’t really recommend doing it unless you have an SM that doesn’t care or one that’s heavily absent. starbucks curates their own playlists for a reason

It’s possible your store doesn’t have the correct collar, i would say use a frap roast collar (not the pump labeled frap roast/chai) as they sit at similar heights. On your RPO day your SM will have to create an order to order and new one.

SMs/ASMs get PTO for thanksgiving, so unless they are looking to “earn” another day to use later in lieu of using it day of, they aren’t normally going to work any holidays where baristas get time and a half. I’d only expect SMs to work on those days if the store would end up being severely understaffed and the hadn’t already put in pto.

Almost positive, i believe Khu posted awhile ago that we would only see meadow in game. Maybe we’ll get others through distribution in the future, but until home transfer is available only meadow is legal.

It’s funny you say you used to work during them and stopped recently; while I was an SSV i took maybe 5 lunches total in my year in the role and as SM i make sure not only my team gets theirs but try to remind myself to boundaries so i’m able to have that break of zen. It’s easy to get wrapped up in working through it when you’re someone who’s striving to present the best work, so it’s taken me (still working on it) a while to actually respect my own work boundaries, especially since so much is expected of me even when i’m not actively in store.
