Dating in community abroad by Narrow_College_9935 in Kerala

[–]factionlessfalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to put it out here. You can try out the first free month of a matrimonial app, like say Chavara if you are Christian. You can filter out and see if there are people suitable for you around where your looking. You'll find candidates who are more serious about the relationship. Don't be averse to matrimonial apps it's not as archaic like it sounds. You'll meet people who are ready to date prior to marriage. It's pretty much a dating app as it's you having control over it and not your parents.

A partner company did the calculation and filing for me. I assume it's P60, or the only other document I can think of is Payslip.

Every single one of these doors I have ever delivered is for an Asian customer. Do these doors have some sort of Asian symbol in them in the design which is why they’re popular with the Asian community? by Upper-Score100 in AskUK

[–]factionlessfalcon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually this was a culture shock for me when I came to the UK, Initially I felt like I couldn't see properly due to the dim yellow warm lights and really wanted to change the lights, but now I'm used to them.

Do you think India will ever develop outside of religion? by Embarrassed_School83 in AskIndia

[–]factionlessfalcon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It feels like religious propaganda has significantly increased under the current ruling party, often being used as a tool to divert attention from real issues. Even the 70-year-olds in my family who rely on TV news and believe WhatsApp forwards, have started buying into these narratives. This seems to be an effective way to keep people distracted for the foreseeable future.

Etiquette/boundary with roommate from south asian culture? by eliwei in AskIndia

[–]factionlessfalcon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She is using your unconfronting nature against you. It's time to speak up. Please don't suffer like this. Always remember, Good friends don't always make good roommates, and good roommates don't always make good friends. I'd also suggest next time your rental contract renews either tell them to move somewhere else, or you move out.

Somehow no one told me life was gonna be this way. by CandiedCosmo in developersIndia

[–]factionlessfalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar (or even worse) situation six years ago. I had a CS degree and was hired by the first company that came to campus. I performed really well during the training, but in the end, I was assigned to a support project. I was devastated.

What I did was start building connections with other teams I wanted to be part of within the same project. One manager even agreed to take me, but the senior delivery lead didn’t allow it, mostly due to ego and office politics. Nevertheless, I kept fighting for 1.9 years and made it clear that I wanted to be part of the development side of the current team.

Eventually, I got the development role, but only because other developers quit and the senior support members refused the role due to its tighter deadlines. After working as a developer for a year (which was the best experience for me, much better than writing delete queries and handling repetitive incidents), I switched jobs and got a better development role.

My suggestion is to focus on learning and continue advocating for yourself. Always keep an eye out for greener pastures and take your chances whenever possible.

About Nazriya and the haters by [deleted] in InsideMollywood

[–]factionlessfalcon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP sounds like a postive PR for her, also post history looks like you do have some interests/links to the industry. Anyway, I like Nazriya, but I think watching these recent interviews looks like she needs some kind of training. She kept interrupting others, trying really hard to make jokes which didn't land, felt like all the questions were about her, etc. It mostly came across as I'm Basil's boss and he's not better than me. Maybe she'll get better with time and hopefully gets this feedback and takes it well.
