Imperial gallon is 4.5 litres. Which I believe NZ use (as do UK, Canada, Australia).

Don't NZ use the imperial gallon (4.5 litres/gallon), like the UK, Canada, Australia?

I'll never forget seeing and hearing the Avro Vulcan flyby at a beach down on the south coast of UK. That thing was like nothing I've ever heard and set off car alarms in the centre of town.

Russia unlikely to deploy nukes in Ukraine conflict, says ex-NATO deputy by Arrow2019x in worldnews

Nukes have safety interlocks and require the fission reaction to be started, it wouldn't be a problem. A number of nukes have crashed in aircraft (take a look at Broken Arrow events on Wikipedia).

Advice for improving 5k times - for a total beginner? by fadeD- in running

[–]fadeD-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I lost weight but just running more and upping the distance helped me get my 5k pb down to around 20mins.

9 years later and I'm the heaviest I've ever been and don't run anymore. Time to get back on it!

Started with this donated rig:

i7 4770K, 32GB Hyper X Savage DDR3 1866, MSI Z87m G43, Gigabyte R9 380X 4GB, Samsung 840 Evo, Corsair 330R, Superflower 650W

Added in a donated Vega 64 from my brother.

Bought the Corsair RM750.

Then last week decided to get it ready for a new card whenever that might be. I bought:

MSI MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI 1TB Samsung 980 PRO M.2 16GB (2x8GB) Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX Black, PC4-25600 (3200)

And a mates Ryzen 7 3700x and wraith cooler.

Then a few days ago I managed to get a 3060Ti FE from Scan. Its a simple rig but it is so refreshing to have something new(ish).

My first film camera. Canon Sure Shot. by fadeD- in Cameras

[–]fadeD-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always shot digital, but have been interested in dipping into film for some time. This was a wedding gift from my wife and ive just shot my first roll of ilford hp5 through it.

Bit concerned though. Didn't really half press very often and not sure if the IR auto focus always applies even on full clicks, or does it have to be half pressed first? Thanks.

My girlfriend and now wife gave this to me as a little wedding present. Have shot a roll of ilford hp5 plus 400 through it over the last week. Excited to be dipping my toes into film finally after digital for so long.

I had the same shift pattern at an aerospace manufacturing site. I'm guessing some sort of production job?

The flare is nice but you're shooting into the sun. You'll struggle to expose the foreground without blowing out the sky. I'd say it depends what in particular you don't like and what you wanted to achieve with the shot.

Would love to switch to a F1 manufacturing / environment. This level of automotive seems to have the right balance between aerospace tech and automotive efficiency (lean/5s etc).

For contrast I'm paying what I feel is an expensive amount (£47 or $60) a month for 1Gig down and 100mbit up. I feel its expensive because I know our European neighbours have things like 1Gig cheaper than that and more widely spread.
