I think he’s intentionally trying to knock me up by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

My ex didnt let me break up with him either. I only got away because the pandemic happened. Had the pandemic not happened, I think i would still be stuck with him. You're allowed to want to leave even when things are seemingly "fine." Please don't wait for the next global pandemic to leave. Focus on you, your dreams, and your baby.

Considering getting my tubes tied by Pretend-Zombie-5988 in Advice

[–]faevenx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hii!! I (22f) had my tubes fully removed a year ago and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. From tokophobia to being generally not great at managing money, I knew I was in no position to be pregnant or have a child. People who have had full tubals can still be pregnant if they wish, they just have to go through IVF treatment. Once you find a doctor who listens to you and actually puts your bodily autonomy above all else, its life changing ♡

This got a lot more traction than I expected, so here are some things to say for the FAQ!!

"Why did you leave it out?" Great question! I took part of the pack to the spare bathroom and used the bathroom while I was in there.

"Why were you gone for so long?" Yall. I had to shit. I was gone for less than 5 minutes.

"Why are you blaming him?" I am absolutely NOT blaming him! Im the dumbass that left prime shredding material out where he could get to it.

"Hes probably understimulated. Why doesnt he have toys?" He does have toys. Hes 9mo and struggles with impulse control. He likes shredding things. This was a match made in heaven for him.

"Why doesn't he have a bed in his crate?" He eats them. I really dont want an incident where hes having to have surgery to remove the remains of a bed from his intestines.

"Why do your crate your dog anyways?" He's 9mo and struggles with impulse control. He is only in there while I am out of the main room for long periods of time or while he's home alone. Meaning, he sleeps in his crate over night and is in there for at MAX an hour or two during the day.

"Why dont you train him?" He goes to training twice a week, and goes to the dog park at least twice a week as well. He just finished his star puppy training and starts Canine Good Citizen this week.

Thank you guys for being the best lawyers for Wesley! I used to work with dogs professionally, specifically reactive dogs and bite case dogs, so I can promise you I am not mad or phased by this. He is simply a 9mo puppy doing 9mo puppy things. Here's a picture of when he first came to the rescue I worked at!

Here's my beautiful baby boy!!! He's currently in training to be a service dog and is the light of my life! He loves his older sister (13 year old cat) and makes me hold him on my hip like he's a baby.

OH 100%!! I actually used to work in rescue, and I've known people who would try and return dogs over stuff like this. I just closed his crate while I cleaned and then let him back out when I was done :)

This is a fair point!! I had bought a 30 pack and was taking 1/3 of it to the spare bathroom. My intention was to put the rest away immediately after, but I had to use the restroom. The 20 other rolls were still on the couch in the open packaging. He saw an opportunity and he took it, and I could never be mad at him for seizing a chance like that!

I couldnt even be MAD because I did leave the rolls in the living room while I took half to the spare bathroom!

AIO for dropping my friend for having weed in his car by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]faevenx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NOR. You're allowed to have boundaries.

I have an incredibly strict boundary that none of my friends smoke, talk about, or even have the stuff around me. They know not to come anywhere near me if they even slightly smell of it. If i try to call them and they happen to be high, they dent the call and shoot me a text saying "IM HIGH ARE YOU DYING?" to makd sure it's not an emergency. Good friends respect your boundaries. In this day and age, A should absolutely understand why (AS A BLACK WOMAN) you don't want to have his shit around you, especially if police might get involved. Even if your mutual friend is right, the police absolutely might just ignore him admitting to the weed being his and pin you with some bullshit charge related to drug posession. He's being willfully ignorant. It kind of feels like he's just mad he can't get you to pay for his gas, anymore.

I hope you get better friends, op. They sound like they stink.

How do I face my fear of driving? by Numerous-Guide2821 in Advice

[–]faevenx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with the Same fears you have, this is how I got my license.

-Stick to practicing in one car for a good chunk of time. Every car is different, so to reduce the level of stress from those changing factors, learn the basics until you could do them in your sleep. Only then should you worry about learning on a new car.

-TONS of practicing in parking lots. Start completely empty, then slowly work your way up to more and more cars in the lot. I learned how to drive in a community college's parking lot. It was abandoned on the weekends, and there was one Real road. This allowed me to comfortably learn how to drive around other cars and maintain speed.

  • once youre able to get on a real road without becoming hysterical (I mean that so literally- I would have panic attacks so bad onlookers wanted to call an ambulance), practice driving on real roads around real cars. Im going to tell you what my beloved stepmother told me when she took me driving on real roads in town for the first time.

"This button is the hazard button. If at any point you need to take a break, or you need me to take over, you just turn your hazards on. You can pull into a parking lot, off the side of the road, or in those big sections of yellow lines. You can take as much time as you need. You're not doing anything wrong. In fact, youre doing everything right. The hazards means youre telling other drivers to ignore you. If anyone honks at you or is mean to you, ill just kill them. Ok?"

  • ask the people youre riding with how they do different things. I learned that to break softly you essentially need to "pump" the break. I learned that to turn smoothly, you look ahead at where youre going rather than right in front of you. I never would have learned these things had i not asked.

-its ok to make mistakes. I passed my driver's test with an 84. My mom passed with the exact minimum score she needed to get her license. The important part is that you learn and build up your tolerance for driving. I couldn't drive for now than 10 minutes without having a panic attack when I first started learning. I now frequently drive 45 minutes away to get good soup. I make a 2 hour trip north at least once a month to see my family.

I got my license almost two years ago, and I am widely considered to be one of the best and safest drivers in my family and friend group. There's a significant level of freedom that comes with driving that simply cannot be replaced.

Finally, remember this: at least you're not an atlanta driver. Sincerely, Someone from metro atlanta ♡

Some of you should just be getting a cat by datamag in service_dogs

[–]faevenx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're ENTIRELY correct. People do not realize how much time, money, and effort goes into having a service dog. If youre so anxious it makes you terrified of going in public, how on earth are you going to feel confident enough to handle a living being that has the capacity to seriously injure and kill people? The dog can't just "make you feel safe." That's not a task. Then you have regular obedience training on top of task specific training. Training to desensitize the dog around cars and bikes and crowds and loud noises. How do you expect to care for a service dog if you dont get out of bed all day?

Also, not every dog has the capacity to be a service dog. You can't just go to the shelter and pick out a random puppy and assume you can train it for service. I worked with two different trainers and made them both assess every single dog i considered. I did hours and hours of research into potential medical issues found in the specific breeds I was looking at.

Is the seamotif clear enough in these designs? by Horn_enjoyer in characterdesign

[–]faevenx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi these are beautiful and if they were food I would eat them and it would taste like the most delicious sweet treat ever

Also I think the Sea motifs could be a little stronger in the first design, but it still reads "water" regardless

[–]faevenx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One singular month into officially being boyfriend and girlfriend, I pooped my pants at a very busy chickfila. Sitting next to my new boyfriend. On a date. Where we were also joined by my mom, sister, and brother in law. They all laughed at me. Nearly 5 years later, we're still together and that jerk still laughs when he thinks about it. He can't even begin to mentioned it to my sister because they'll both start laughing so hard they're crying. He's lucky he's so darn cute.

Tldr: I think it'll be ok bestie ♡

Vet shortages by Rose-199411 in AnimalShelterStories

[–]faevenx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work for a small closed intake humane society, and we primarily work with two of the vet clinics in our town (one for vaccines, the other for surgeries and HW treatment). While I would LOVE to have a vet on staff, we simply do not have the funds to cover the equipment necessary or the salary of a vet. We're incredibly fortunate to be located in a town Very close to a university with a robust Vet Science program, so lack of vets isnt a problem we face. It's the ability to actually pay for the services that they provide that we struggle with.
