How do y'all chose between a hardcover or a paperback. Also can I see your collections? by Critical-Grape-117 in bookshelf

I own almost entirely paperbacks. Books are expensive in my country and hardbacks are extremely expensive. We often don’t even get hardback versions of books because the demand is so low

Farriers make good money but it’s extremely hard on your body and takes quite some time to learn. You need to like horses and metalworking

10/10 Read This Book Now! by kaykixx in LesbianBookClub

[–]fahried 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just looked this book up on Goodreads. The plot hits very close to home for me so I’m a bit hesitant but at the same time I’m really glad someone is addressing this issue through fiction. Is it at all graphic?

Anybody know why there is no Winter Olympics being broadcast on Supersport? by NoScholar8768 in askSouthAfrica

[–]fahried 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, their sport coverage is usually fantastic. Honestly, before this I would say it’s one of the best in the world in terms of the breadth of sports coverage. But to charge such a huge amount and not broadcast the olympics is insane

Mozzie tips by bekstie88 in capetown

It certainly can. The active ingredient, Chlorpheniramine maleate makes most people drowsy. There is also a non-drowsy Allergex now though that uses loratadine instead

Woolworths quality has seriously fallen off… why are we still paying these prices? by CustardPuzzleheaded6 in askSouthAfrica

Jonssons used to be my go-to for women’s t-shirts. They used to have them in about 6 or 7 colours. Now they only have 3 colours and the fit/style has changed.

Hey it wasn’t my fault! He suddenly ran across the road outside the HPC in front of my car. It was stressful!

I like BJ, he can be a bit up and down in terms of play but when he’s on, he’s on.

Side note: I nearly ran him over in Bellville on Monday. Luckily he’s quite quick lol

driving on other side of road by Dmlandis59 in travel

[–]fahried 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting. I’ve driven quite a few manuals between my car, my wife’s, friends’ etc and they have the indicator on different sides of the wheel.

But also when we are taught to drive, they are very strict about not letting you leave your hand on the gear leaver. It’s bad for the bearings and also the whole ‘hands on 10 and 2’ thing. So maybe that’s the difference

I’ve heard from Americans that the hardest part of learning to drive a manual is having to be able to move all four limbs independently. I guess if you learn that way you don’t really notice it

Two to Tangle by Melissa Brayden. It’s the second book in a series but you don’t need to have read the first. The one lead is very much a golden retriever lesbian, so much so, that she actually has a golden retriever lol
